Hi there everyone, I am Elvin from the UK and I although I am new to this forum, I am not new to Warhammer

I have known warhammer for a while as in the UK they have shops everywhere and you can help but go into one of them to admire the beautifully painted models.

Modelling wise, I am quite into modelling miniatures as well as Japanese Mecha models known as Gunpla. I tend to concentrate more on Space Hulk as I find that it is much more faster to play as well as simple to grasp. Forgive me but I find the tabletop version of warhammer a little difficult to understand due to all the things you have to do like calculating the distance, the BS, armour saves, etc etc etc. In space hulk it is just command points and that's all.

That said I have not played a tabletop warhammer game before and hopefully I might be able to just watch and see if I am able to understand it enough to participate lol.

Apart from playing Space Hulk, I enjoy painting and building the many miniatures which I have. I am trying to master using green stuff as I find that it is a very interesting material for sculpting weapons and other miscellaneous objects. I also do recasting of various parts like shoulder pads and heads in resin once in awhile as and when I need them.

I might post some of my creations here in future when I get round to photographing them

Finally, I would like to add that I found this forum very informative and that is the main reason I have decided to join.

Hope to contribute some of my experiences and thank you for reading my short introduction

- Elvin

First of all welcome to the forums!

Im sure you will like Dakka as much as i do!
Dont worry about the table top version of warhammer being to complicated, if you can do a little remembering and some mental math you will be fine!
My suggestion to starting a warhammer army is to pick one army that you think is the cooler (in my case Eldar) and learn everything about them, pick up the battle force and start playing! Alot of people at stores will help you learn to play!

Welcome to dakka. I know that the tabletop rules can be a little intimidating for someone just getting into it but play enough times and it all becomes second nature.
