That's cool, but isn't it a bit niche for Dakka?

Oh, and 1:232 scale? Why on earth did they do 1:232?

Pshaw. It's news, as it made both the Squadron newsletter and catalog!

They're also having a sale going on from November 1st to the 30th, so if you want to get something from www.squadron.com enter the coupon code "THANKS" starting from the first onwards.

Yeah, I'll agree it's a bit niche for Dakka, but there are a few of us history buffs on here who enjoy seeing this kind of historical thing and the sale price might make it more interesting for people who can squeeze a model like this in between their fantasy miniatures painting. And it's unlikely to spark the usual arguments associated with Warhammer. Hopefully no harm in trying to provide some "culture".

Of course, for those who are unfamiliar with Squadron they have a whole lot more available at their website, including the ever useful model filler "Squadron Putty" and these more wargame oriented models:

Are you kidding?!?! Mat Ward must have written Codex: Spanish-American War! The USS Olympia was totally broken! And don't get me started on his rules for the USS Vesivius!!! Those pneumatic dynamite guns are totally cheesy!

This looks neat! Certainly a worthy subject. I only hope that they can save the real thing

1:232, indeed! It strikes me as an odd scale too. I wonder if it has anything to do with this being based off the molds for a "classic" Revell kit?

I also think that it is too off topic for this forum. Tolerable for the "other games: historical" subforum maybe.

Awesome, my friend at work is really into historical ship models, I'll let him know about this.

This is news pertaining to models, so I don't think this is off topic at all.

Highly likely, the old kit was probably box-scaled.

The supply does not get to make the demands.
