Just a quick announcement of our Fantasy event that we are hosting this weekend. Sign up is on our forums at www.gigabitescafe.com/forum

This will be a 2500 point tournament beginning at 10 am on 11/20/2011 players are expected to arrive by 9.30 am for Registration.
The entry fee will be $25 and $15 for Rolling Bones Club members.

Each player will need to bring along a 2500 point army (does not need to be painted but should be WYSIWYG) their army book a copy of the rule book tape measure dice and a printed copy of their armies FAQ. Finally each player will need to bring 4 copies of their Army list. This should be either done on Excel/Open office or Army builder. Army Builder is available in the Store if you do not have it at home.

MAGIC Please arrive at the store with the lore of magic used by each mage clearly marked at the top of the list and next to each mage. These cannot be changed between games any more.

The Tournament will take place over 3 rounds with 2.5 hours for each round. At the 15 minutes left mark if you are not at the last turn you should aim to complete the current turn then finish your game.

Each round will use these Scenarios:
Round one will be the Battle Line Scenario
Round 2 will be Meeting Engagement
Round 3 will be capture the blood forest this will follow the rules for capture the tower in the BRB but the objective will be a blood forest. 500vps will be awarded for holding the forest at the end of the game.

Points will be awarded as follows(Please note these have been changed):

30 Massacre Score 1001vps or more than your opponent
20 Victory Score 101 or more victory points than your opponent
10 Draw Score within 100 Vps of each other
5 Defeat Score 101 or less VPs than your opponent
1 Massacred Your opponent has 1001 more than your number of victory points.

Victory points are awarded as per page 143 in the BRB

Sportsmanship
Points will be awarded by players for sportsmanship
Sportsmanship & Composition Points (0-20)
Players will receive a single Sports/Comp score. We assume that everyone coming to the tournament will be a good sport and because the average score is 10, we will give them those 10 points on credit because we think they will keep them. At the conclusion of each game players will have one question on the score sheet which asks, "Did your opponent's behavior and/or army selection honestly make this a bad game for you?" If you had a bad game because of your opponent's sports or comp, mark him down for a bad game. If someone receives a yes then they will have to give back some of those points given on credit.
1 bad game mark -2 points
2 bad game mark -5 points
3 bad game mark Sportsmanship score of zero

These are not cumulative modifiers. Only the lowest applicable modifier will be applied. Unlike a simple linear system, each vote is not worth the same. Everyone might have one bad game. But when someone is rude over multiple games there is something going on and it should cost them more, and under this scoring system it will cost them much more.

No one should be worried about being dinged out of spite which is so prevalent in other systems because this system focuses on the consensus of all three of one’s opponents. While one bad vote will cost you points it cannot knock you out of the running because of its small worth. However, when someone scores poorly over several games it is usually their own fault and they deserve what they get. On the flip side, if someone gives you a bad game or has a bad army then don't hold back and be honest about it, one bad game won't hurt them much at all. They will have to have several bad games in order really get dinged, and if that happens, they deserve it.

Best Sport Vote Points
At the end of the tournament everyone will vote for their best opponent. The question will read, "I certify that ______ provided me with the best game of the weekend. His attitude and army selection were outstanding." As with bad game votes, the value of each best game vote goes up dramatically the more of them you get:
1 best game vote +2 point
2 best game votes +5 points
3 best game votes +10 points
The remaining Base Points (after bad game deductions) will be added to the Best Sport Votes to determine the total sportsmanship points.

Game completion:
There is a 3 points available for completing all 6 turns or completing the scenario (for both players) in each game. If in all three of your games you complete 6 turns you will get a bonus point for a maximum of 10 points.

Painting.
There will be a painting prize

Leaner dice
These should be reviewed with your opponent and re rolled if he requests it.

Rules disputes
This is a new edition and it is inevitable that there will be some difference of opinion. If you cannot agree an interpretation then request the TO to come over to adjudicate. The TO's ruling is final and cannot be disputed.
