Hello everyone, I'm just posting to let people know about our retail store in Plainville Massachusetts. Most of the store is given over to tables for customers to use for casual or tournament gaming. The day-to-day configuration provides six 4' x 6' tables for miniature wargaming and ample seating / table space for various other games.
We hold tournaments and/or other special events roughly once every month. On tournament days the store transforms a bit and has enough space for just over 20 tables.
Battleground in Plainville has a very active Warhammer 40k community that meets every Thursday night at roughly 7:00pm. The community is very friendly and encourages / welcomes new players to come down, check the store out, meet new people, make friends, and play games. It is not uncommon to see the store bustling with activity as 20+ gamers play 40k, talk 40k, paint 40k, and hang out. For more info on Thursday 40k! in Plainville, click here.
The WHFB night is Tuesday and sees a smaller (but not less dedicated) crowd. Anywhere from 3 to 6 WHFB players gather to talk, play, paint, and model. It's not uncommon to see other, smaller scale miniature wargames break out on Tuesday nights.
If you're in the area or just passing through, swing by and check us out.

What a great store!!! The events they hold are a class above the rest. GREAT terrain, GREAT Tables, GREAT location! They play so many miniature games and have always made the community better by offering a great place to play! That is why I made it my HQ for my Wargaming Club.

Would it be an exaggeration to compare this store to the promised land? No, no it would not be. This store is literally a gaming heaven! Everything chase wrote was true, but here are a couple of things he didn't mention. TV's. BG plainville has 2 large plasma screens, one of which will always be playing classic movies or old action cartoons such as the goonies, lord of the rings, bat man, and a plethora of other good films/shows. Also, there are about 4 smaller plasma screens with gaming consoles (either play station or xbox, i dont know) that you can rent for very reasonable rates.
Atmosphere. As chase said, the people at this store are a great gaming community. There is none of that tight knit "we only play with other people in our group" attitude. I got a game in the first time i went there, and by the third time i was there i felt like a regular. Very friendly inclusive group!
The Staff. I have had experiences with other gaming store clerks who groan and sigh if you ask them to make a complicated order or to do something inconvenient. Not here. The staff are all friendly and helpful. For instance, i have been trying to get a broadside suit from GW, and the staff have been helpful and persistent in trying to get in even though GW doesn't appear to want to sell it.
Gaming space. There are a good number of tables open at any time in the store, and on 40k night, there are typically 8 or so out to start with, but if more people show up and need tables, they will just set up new tables. All the tables are very high quality with more terrain than you could ever hope to use. Also, in the back half of the store, there are about 6 tables with chairs that are set up for magic, painting, modeling, eating, you name it! Not to mention that the store is kept neat and clean which is a nice bonus.
In conclusion, this store is truly a cut above the rest, and i would encourage anyone near plainville to swing by for an event, or even just 40k night.

Wow, thanks for the kind words, guys. I appreciate it.
Here is a link to our TANKSgiving event this Wednesday, Nov 23rd. The event is free, so if you're interested in meeting some new players and a chance to win a free tank, come on down.

THE FOLLOWING ARE THE RESULTS OF PLAINVILLE'S TANKSgiving:
Thanks to everyone that came out to celebrate! It's always a goofy, fun event. I am always looking for more events like it, so if you see them in your travels across the internet please send them my way.
After 12 rounds of carnage I'd like to congratulate Mike Defevers and Simon Leen on their victory. A tie on TANKSgiving? Who would have thought? I am told they have the most expensive and least expensive tanks between them. Pretty cool, huh? Both players were given the tank of their choice.
A few awesome things to note:
Dave Dourins little Wave Serpent managed to survive the entire event! How does that happen?
Andy Norris managed to kill 3 different tanks in one turn. Awesome!
Here are some pictures of the table just as we finished setting it up:
