Anyway, on a more serious note, I've also just "got back" into it, and suck too. I've been trying out a Roach build that is explained in this video:
Spoiler:
It's seeming quite strong, though it's defenceless versus things like 6pool. My advice is to look up how to play videos on youtube, personally.
Also, hotkey all your queens to one thing, and all your lairs to one thing. And never stop injecting!

And thanks for posting that second video....might have to try that....
I've played it 3 times so far with 1 success.
First time, other guy quit at 33 seconds. Easy win.
Second game, I got six pooled, managed to hang on long enough for my superior economy to let me churn out the roaches and overpowered him for the win.
Third game, the other guy had siege tanks in siege mode at the 4:30 mark. How?! I got slaughtered.

How do you get Siege tanks at the 4:30 mark?!?!? That's crazy!
When ever I play lately I'm either getting a bunch of marines thrown at me, or a crap ton of zealots......I haven't played another Zerg player yet.......
From what the video said, Roaches should tear through marines and zealots, so I'm definitely going to try the roach build...

Ya, Mutalisks are REALLY nice if you can get them out early.....But the Spire is pretty expensive..............At least I think it is...
sort of is... I get some zerglings and hydralisks built first for defense, if I can spare the resources and most times I can't... The fast mutalisks strat really has only worked maybe 1 out of 20 times for me.
But that is all behind me... now I listen to the symphony of crowds and crowds of marines' gunfire. (marine spam has only worked for me maybe 1 out of 10 times for me.)

I hate listening to the "symphony" of marine gunfire........I never have enough banelings to kill all the damn marines!
Only real "tactic" I can say is real nice for Zerg, it is very effective to split your forces and literally flank your opponent when you actually fight so say roaches on the ground and hydras on high ground, that sort of thing. Idra is a nice Zerg player to learn from. Personally I hate using roaches although I am far from an advanced player. I actually personally suck at Starcraft I need to practice.

Idra is awesome. I need to watch some of his games and study them......
I played a game yesterday, I used my overlords and put them over expansion areas, usually ones that are either blocked off by rocks, or are on little islands...than I use a Nydus worm to transport drones over their, and get my economy pumping really fast, the only problem is I'm open for early attacks, and I usually only have zerglings for defense...Once I get my economy going, I got a few spires and start teching up, and building Mutalisks. Than Once I got a greater spire, I start getting a bunch of brood lords.....brood lords drop ALL ground forces.
Ohh baby. Yeah I love using/ seeing Broodlords attack workers and then the siege tanks shoot their own workers lulz. Ahhh Starcraft 2. You made my day.
This is the game I was thinking of. He actually used small Roaches to get the sieges to fire oh ur so smart.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Yeah that's the same game with the Broodlords. One thing Idra is real good about he makes sure he gets creep everywhere the whole map is creep.
