Our club is thinking about organizing a 40K weekend extravaganza locally. For now we will be promoting it to wrangle in the players who may want to try this and shoot for a schedule early next spring. Everything is still in the planning stage and is subject to change.

Basics for now:

-A one day or a Weekend event at Showcase Comics and Games in Media, PA (this usually means Mike will go nuts with the food!)
-Minimal cover charge for food and the space, not to fund a prize pool (not that we won't come up with some kind of trophies)
-Play every type of 40K!
-Designed for collectors
-Fully Painted
-Club members/Staff organizing the event WILL be playing in it

So the idea is you will play Planetstrike, Spearhead, City Fight, Normal 40K, and Apocalypse. All Imperial Armour rules will be legal and to use Forge World items you must have the models - no counts-as for a load of Lucius pattern Drop Pods. All the mission specific scenery will be provided by Showcase and MechaniCon.

Bring a 4000 point army (including possible allies for the Apocalypse game) and each of your units will be able to play in all the different mission types. Each game, one unit and one character will be subject to campaign results (casualties or gaining experience).

At the end of the weekend, you should have your gaming addiction sated for a while. This is not to crown the 40K champion, this is to get out your collection and play some expansions you may not see often and enjoy large scale gaming!

Pop a reply in if you may be interested. Right now we have about 6-8 lined up and it would maybe be a 16 player cap, this allows for 8 tables at 4' x 8' and each player gets half of another 4' x 8' table for their display/cases/snacks.

This sounds like fun,
I would definitely make the trip for a one day event. Though I don't know if I could commit to a weekend.
