OK, so i'm really fed up with the Emporeror is a god thing and all that jazz, so i worte my own fluff. It takes on a planet called Baile in the puter reahces of the galaxy where people seldom go. ( so i can still use the background when fighting any other armies.)

It is also includes 2 eras, so i can use it for my Empire (Solas) and my fantasy chaos Khorne army (Caillte) but also for my Space Marines (Solas) and 40k Chaos khorne (Caillte)

I do intend to write more, draw a map of the world, invent special personalities and characters etcbut for now, it's just an idea.

The History of Baile

Long ago, the world was made up of one people called the Solas Sa Dorchadas . The people lived together in harmony, worshipping a great god, who protected them from evil and struck down those who sought to destroy the harmony and peace that the world lived in. And so the world carried on it's path, the days went by and the people lived happy in the knowledge their world would remain harmonious.
However, a great power was stirring in their midst. New gods had come to the world and were quietly sowing doubt among the people. After a century there was a mass exodus of people south to the icy land known as nach bhféadfaí cónaí (the unlivable land) These people were the doubters, they had the seed in their brain and so they left. However they established cities and still traded with the Solas folk. After a while though, the trade agreements broke down and eventually the cities of the Caillte (as they had become known amongst the people of Solas) shut their doors for good.
Years later, the chief of Solas began receiving reports of outlying villages being attacked and ravaged by an unholy people who raped women, sold valuables and food and destroyed homes. Every time a village was attacked a large flaming icon of a metallic skull would be left in the centre as a mark. In time, these attackers became feared, and the Solas people took up Musket and Spear to defend themselves against them. Although the Caillte people had no such technology, their magick was more powerful than any Solas Shaman and their lust for war and blood meant they almost had no fear.
After a while the Solas formed an army and marched south, towards the plains in between the land of Caillte and their own. There they met a massive Caillte horde, and as the battle raged their opposing gods met in battle above them. The Solas God realised it was futile fighting against the Caillte gods, he could defeat one with ease, but another would just take it's place. The Caillte gods on the other hand, couldn't agree on what to do and were being destroyed one by one. They sent an envoy to the Solas God, asking for a meeting. The battle down below had turned into a war lasting for years.
Eventually the gods decided nobody could win, and the best way forward was to split the land in 2, and so after years of debate, the gods combined their power and split the land mass into 3 parts, the continent of Caillte, the Continent of Solas and the Great Island, where it was forbidden by the gods to set foot. Centuries past and the peace remained. However as the centuries drew on something happened that the gods could not have foreseen, technology had become so advanced that the peoples of Baile could cross the ocean, and wage war with far advanced weaponry than that of their predecessors. Massive cannon on mobile tracked platforms and laser cannon could deal more destruction than the biggest black powder cannon ever could. The war started again.
