I painted up a battery of Wespe Artillery for the Hermann Goering List: Wespe Battery

These are really inspirational. Thanks for posting them. I need to get my HG Heavy Recon painted now!

I have not tried the list yet, but having an Arty battery and Pioneer platoon as core units seems awesome.

I liked the look of the HG Heavy recon list - it's just a bit "different". It certainly isn't cheap. So far I have about 14 transport vehicles and I can't see them being used much looking at other batreps.
The Wespe's seem very fragile. Keeping them away from tanks/anti tank fire is going to be the key to them as well as using 4 of them to avoid the re-rolls. They are not cheap points wise, so I hope they earn their keep.

So far I have built:
HQ plus 3 panzerschrecks
1 x Pioneer MG platoon.
2 x Wespes (2 more to build).
1 x lelg18 inf. gun platoon.
4 x PAK40s (list allows 3).
2 x AA flak wagons

others to build:
1 x Heavy platoon (4 HMG, 2 8cm mortars)
1 x tank platoon (2 panzer III m, 1 IV H, 1 III N)
1 x Aufkl. MG platoon

Plus some transports for the leaders and observers.

I would hope there is enough manouvre and firepower above to hold their own...

Dirty John awesome paint job! Ambler if I were you I would drop the infantry guns. You really aren't going to need them with 4 Wespes and the 2.8 mortars. You should have no problem keeping your Wespes safely in the rear with a 72 inch range. If they are threatened you have to remember the are mobile and can move to safety and they are killer in a direct fire role VS armor.
