Anyone near Rochester? My school hosts gaming nights on tuesday nights. Generally we have around 100 players. It would be nice to see some of you there.

And anyone play BFG? I want to get into it but do not know anyone who has a flet to help me start out. Interested? ? ?

us rochester denizens post on here.

Meanwhile, Millenium Games hosts monthly 40k tournaments (this months is invite-only, they normally run an invite tournament at the end of the year, that you need to win another tournament to enter).

I know Boldo's Armory over on Monroe is holding a tournament on the 11th, if you wanna play.

I used to play at RIT on tuesdays, but honestly the people who show up often have nothing but grey armies, and I found it depressing lol.

I actually moved from Rochester about six months ago, so I'm working with slightly dated information, but I can't imagine things have changed that much.

As Horst said, there's Millennium Games and Hobbies. They play every Saturday.

My favorite place to play was Boldo's Armory, where they play on Thursday evenings and Sundays. Pretty much everyone at Boldo's is pretty cool. They have a lot of serious tournament players, but IIRC none of them are jerks and they play a lot of friendly games, too.

There's also Pair-A-Dice games in the Village Gate. I only discovered it a month after I moved, but it seems pretty cool.

There's quite a bit of overlap between stores, I doubt anyone plays at any one venue exclusively.

As for BFG, I remember it was crazy popular a few years ago. I don't think there's anyone who regularly plays at the stores, but I know there are quite a few people who have fleets, so it probably won't hurt to ask around.

Millenium games is actually starting up a painting escalation league, which would help you get in a lot of games.

Copy/Pasted from the board:

Millennium Games winter painting escalation league:

With winter coming up this is the prime time to do a painting league and thanks to Travis a cool way to win loot and also get ready for a tournament (More on that later).

The League is going to start on Tuesday December 6th . at 500 points, and every two (2) weeks were going to raise the point level by 250 Points, the exception to this is going to be the second week, in which you’ll have three weeks just do to the holidays. So quick break down, with the weeks restriction.

Period #1::: 12/6-12/19: 500pts (NO HQ’S, NO av13+, No t6 or greater)
Period#2:::: 12/20- 1/9: 750pts (Full Options Minus special characters)
Period #3:::: 1/10-1/23: 1000pts ***(New unit needed)
Period #4:::: 1/24-2/6: 1250 (Special characters can now be used)
Period #5 :::: 2/7-2/20: 1500
Period #6 ::: 2/21-3/6: 1850

Rules: Every model has to be fully painted (Not based) and WYSIWYG, Period

The last week jump is due to the fact that that weekend we will be having the end of the league tournament at the store on 3/10.

Now the Cost, It’s going be $25 bucks to sign up, Now on March 6th we’ll be having an Millennium auction like we did this past summer how this is going to work is, during each period you can play up to three games with any opponent to get points, you get 1 point for playing the game, and then 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw, I’ll have a score board at the store plus you can email me/ post results and I’ll keep a running tab.

Now for the Tournament, Were going to be doing a Side board tournament: You’ll make up a core Army at 1350 Points then two side board armies of 500 points, The core army is used at all time, and you CANNOT make any changes to it Including weapon options, war- gear, Etc…. , the Two side boards can have the same units with different options if you choose. The tournament is open to everyone not just if you played in the league.

Also, between the main army and the two side boards, you have to have at least one option from each Force Org slot, that does not mean that every game you’ll have all 5 in play at once, just in your build

Main Army Build :::: 1350 Points: 1HQ, 0-2 Elites, 2-4 Troops, 0-2 Fast, 0-2 Heavy .
Side Board Army’s :: 500 points: 0-1 HQ, 0-1 Elites, 0-2 Troops, 0-1 Fast, 0-1 Heavy.

There will be 3 rounds, and Paint will be heavily scored for this tournament (Somewhere between 30-40%) I’ll have more on this come January.

****EDIT**** People keep asking if they can use an army they already have, the answer is yes, But this league is to encourage new units and new army's, and more so to motivate people to get them done, so we're adding this in:

If this is a whole brand new army, never touched the table you get +3 points.

If this is a army that's old, but less than 1000 pts painted you get +2 Points.

If this is army that's old and your adding a unit (Must have it done for Period 3) add +1 point.

Also I added in from Period 4 and on you can use special character... If you NEED a Sp to build the army, I.e. Belieal for Sameul, just build the army as if you had them in there...

Your list during the league can change as long as the models meet the requirements

And finally just to avoid the headache, you don't need to follow the force org in till period 3, PLEASE don't abused/misuse be a douche about this, a.k.a. 2 or 3 lone wolfs. If I find out anyone does this I will take away your points for that week. People wont be encouraged to paint if they get punched out by 3 heavy slots and troops choice for 6 games....

Edit - Also, my roommate Mike who plays Eldar will be staying after the tournament for a bit tomorrow, and is free for a game if you'd like. Tournament probably ends at like 5-6PM.
