Hi,
I've been lurking on Dakkadakka for about a year now and finally decided to join. Just got back into
40k - me and a friend had a chat and I suggested we played from 28mm Napoleanic warfare using the Black Powder rules. A few beers later and somehow we'd instead ordered a load of
40k figures online. This proved to be emminently more satisfying.
I've bought the Tyranid army of my dreams (I've always wanted them since I went to a Games Day back in the mid 90s where they revealed in a seminar that genestealers were just the advance force for Tyranids. Kinda felt like I was getting the inside skinny, so they always had a place in my hear) but haven't played a huge number of games. Mainly they've been against my friend's Eldar army (he comes up to Birmingham to play me; I think out of 12 games I've had two wins) but I've managed to get a load of wargamers onboard from my home town of Liverpool (there's a wargames / roleplaying games club there, but they're more historical than
40k) and I've been getting into a few games when I go back up there.
I have a blog! Although as I'm a newbie, it's more a catalogue of my failures and rules mistakes:
