Subject: WoTR: Mordor Demo List 1k seeking feedback

Greetings Ringers,
I am preparing for WoTR demos in 2012 -- there are several more potential players waiting to see some action on the table. I play Dwarves; this Mordor list is rough, not fully accurate with points, but I want to at least start getting feedback as to if I am heading in the right direction.
Here we go:
MORDOR w/ Misty Mountain Allies
The Firecaller
Mordor Orc Warband ~ 4 companies
Captain & Banner
Mordor Bowman ~ 2 companies
Warg Riders w/ Shields ~ 6 companies
Siege Bow
Cave Troll (allies)
Goblin Blackshields ~ 3 companies (allies)
Gollum
My intention with this army is the following:
To demonstrate movement of both infantry and cavalry in an interesting manner
to demonstrate bowfire and artillery
to utilize fate and spells without an overwhelming amount of power (Firecaller)
to demonstrate fun and fluffy examples of how WoTR is themed, such as "Epic cowardice" and Gollum's need for placement in a friendly unit
to demonstrate Fate points without being overly complex
to demonstrate a battle large enough to get the epic "feel" common to WoTR.
Tell me what you think guys -- I almost have everything I need here!!

You're only at 670pts right now.
-I'd have more Captains to show the importance of AtD and how Heroic Actions are used.
-Why Misty Mountain allies? Mordor has Trolls and heavy Infantry too.
-I'd give the Orcs 2 handed weapons as another learning tool and a larger unit since they will die fast.
-I'd use the Mouth of Sauron instead of Kardush. He's pretty much the same, but I think it might be better to show the manipulative side of magic in Darkness and Dismay, rather than just the blastyness of Ruin.

Ok, first off, I don't recommend 1k for intro games. You can cover pretty much everything at 500:
Mouth of Sauron 100
3 co Morannon Orcs/Shields 75 (Mouth goes here)
3 co Warg riders cpt/shields 125
Troll 100
Siege bow 50
2 co mordor orcs/bows 40
That covers magic, epic cowardice, might, shooting, artillery, monsters vs cav vs infantry, at the double, epic actions vs heroic actions...pretty much everything. If it feels too small, I would up the number of Morannons to 4, add some Mordors with 2-handed weapons, and a banner and another company for the Wargs. That would put you around 750 and around 15 companies, plus the artillery and a monster.

Great advice gents, thanks.
I picked up the Cave Troll for $3 used at a game shop in San Luis Obispo. Took a few pins but I couldn't believe the deal. Thus, allies.
This is great, I can wait on the Gobbos, purchase Mouth & Siege and be good to go.
I'll list 500 of Dwarves later for your perusal.
Cheers
Thanks Spy, thanks Tzeentch Automatically Appended Next Post: p.s. could I use a Ring Wraith instead of Mouth of Sauron? I own one already...

A Ringwraith is fine. You'd just have to drop one company of the Bow orcs to make it fit.

Wraiths are nasty, but just one should be fine. I'd probably make it the Dark Marshal or the Knight of Umbar. Decent wraiths, but not ones that make people want to reach over the table and slap you across the face.

Yes they are indeed nasty critters; the decent ones are helpful recommends. I could also just proxy a wraith for the Mouth of Sauron if that is a better overall demo build.
