OK, so I just beat it, and I didn't get to finish to side quests, even though I wanted to. I didn't get to finish the Bane quest, specifically, because at the point I got the last container, I was locked to the storyline quests and could not leave (I went from trapped in the tower after destroying the last one, right to "unable to leave Talia", and then the game ended. Is it possible to finish the Bane quest on the first playthrough? By the time I got the last one, half the city had been destroyed.

Yes, just load that save and you'll be fine. You can keep playing without starting a new game. No quests are locked out due to main storyline.

Completed the story yesterday, I was quite impressed really but I do have one niggle.
