I'll be moving to Destin Florida by the end of 2012, and I was wonder what game stores are located in the area? I want to get a feel for the player base and what systems are played. this way I don't start a system that is dead there. and I can look into starting the more popular systems there.

I hit up TBS comics in Ft. Walton beach - it's about 15 minutes or so from Destin. Good selection of products, and they have a 20% off GW membership discount. They've got a forum that'll give you a good idea of the player base and gaming in the area.

TBS is a great store. I recommend it as well.

There is another store, but I don't think it is worth recommending. They seem to have a run of bad luck and the shop is looking like someone kicked it in the hindquarters.
The shop is located in Ft Walton as well. I won't say the name, and someone who might know better then me can try to explain whats going on with it.
A few months back, it was balls out one of the neatest stores I went to, then in the space of like a couple of weeks, the place floundered.

Theres a couple of comic book shops, and a little known diamond in the rough up in Crestview named the Gamermasters Guild. They have a bunch of old school D and D stuff up there, and have bent over backwards to get me what I wanted when asked. A little pricy, but it is a nice little shop with cool owners who are good peoples.

Destin is kinda interesting. I haven't been down there very much for gaming, but they either had or are going to have an Anime convention upcoming. They have some great spaces for conventions, by the way. Nice looking town, too. Right there on the water.

Crowd I saw in Ft Walton was pretty good, they play a bunch of PP and 40K, but they have agreat selection of Malfaux, D and D, and boardgames. Saw a whole bunch of Battletech going on there as well a few of the times I went in.

Sorry to hop in here fellas, was browsing the threads and figured I'd take a look and see if anyone else nearby was in here. My question to Grot 6 is the store you were commenting on in Ft Walton located on Racetrack?

I've went to TBS a couple times to look around (didn't realise they did a 20% discount on GW membership...just saw generic website prices, but I didn't ask) and it seems nice. Three solid tables from what I saw and a couple of kids playing a Tau/SM match. I've been meaning to find out when their good 40k day is so I don't make the trip down there for no reason though.

To the OP, Arizona to Destin? Well played trading the dry heat for the super humid lovin' Hope to see you come 2012!
