Probably work

A scientist creates a beast / In a secret laboratory
Nature plots revenge / It's blood it seeks
That's where we begin our story!

--The Aquabats, "The Cat with Two Heads"

The Adeptus Felis were a Marine Chapter known as the Galactic Cougars. They were created by a combination of Imperial Fist and Dark Angel geneseed, and originally were originally stationed on a little known planet, Nekoo-3, known for its large populations of feral cats, in the far reaches of known space. Initially, there were no problems. They defended their reaches of space admirably, and always in the name of the Emperor. The Third and fourth generation Marines of the chapter began to develop distressing mutations however. They began to develop enlarged heads, often with a thick, white fur covering them. Eventually these mutations became present in even older marines who had not previously began to display them, and they began to develop pointed ears.

Needless to say, it wasn't long before the Inquisition became involved. Though they were found free of the taint of Chaos, it was determined that the unusual star that the planet orbited was likely the cause of their changes. An Ordo Xenos Inquisitor by the name of Quintin Jhonas studied the planet for many years, speculating that most of the feline life forms on the planet were likely actually something else at one point and had fully mutated over many generations into the feral animals they were today. The Galactic Cougars were declared mutants and excommunicated, but the inquisition was unable to gather them all to have them killed. They Cougars were able to slink off beyond the grasp of their would-be executioners, and attempted to start life anew. Though they knew they would be hunted like animals at that point, they couldn't turn their back on their duty, and so they now travel from planet to planet, stopping the foes of the Imperium and stealing tuna, catnip, and bolter rounds from Munitorium Depots along the way.

I'm making these as a belated Christmas present (the heads took longer than I thought to come in) for one of my friend's girlfriends. He was the guy who got me into 40k, and she's had to put up with him painting and playing with us for a long time, so I figured that it was high-time for her to have a squad of her own. She's also in to Hello Kitty in a BIG way, so I thought it appropriate. This is the first one that I painted last night. I plan on having a full squad complete by the end of the week, along with an HQ (Captain Neko Kawaii).

Without the fluff article before I would frown upon these. As it is, the models, as well as your attitude towards them, are genius!
