Starting my first p&M blog here on dakka. This is my first army in 40K as well as the first models I have ever painted. I am really set on the Boltgun metal on the robotic parts of the warriors, with the purple armor plating on top. I decided not to color in the eyes to confirm the whole soulless robot scheme. I think the green on the tubing clashing with the purple adds a nice contrast that keeps the eye active on the model. Here are some images, hope you enjoy.

I went with a snowy base to kind of resemble something along the lines of an ash waste planet in the midst of some form of fall out. This adds to the fluff of the army without saying anything as well as really stands out against the model. The contrast really helps the model pop. Any comments you have are welcome, and I will answer any questions you have to the best of my ability.

Love this model. Watching it come together was interesting. Glad to have a pupil to learn my dark arts. Still not big on the purple chin, but then again, it's not my army. Look forward to seeing the rest of it come together.

I think for the purple chin and forehead to work the head should be white or something other than metal. Looking great though mate.

I considered doing bone or a white for some of the parts but chose the metal to speak more to the soul housed in a robot body than a cyborg conversion. Also like it more metal with the vacant eyes. I feel that empty sockets in a skull is over played a bit, but that's just me. I also plan on loosing more of the metal as the models go up in "rank," playing on the whole idea that only the soul remains and none of the actual body.
