Tournament will be on Sunday, February 19th, 2012. The point value will be 2500 points. The first game will begin at 10:30 am. Everyone should arrive by 10 am to handle all of the preliminary matters. Please leave this topic for sign-ups. There will be a thread in the Warhammer Fantasy Forums for comments and questions.

Cost will be $20. $15 for Rolling Bones club members. As always you can prepay to reserve a spot, or first come first serve on the day of the tournament. There will be 3 games which will be 2.5 hours each. Do not start an new turn once the 15 minute mark is called. Lunch will follow the 1st game. Each player needs to bring 5 copies of their army list. The tournament will be open list. One copy will need to be given to me before the event begins. Make sure your chosen Lore of Magic is clearly marked for each wizard/caster, etc

Prizes will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd based on overall points as well as best general (most battle points), best painted and sportsmanship.

Overall points will consist of Battle Points (0-90), Sportsmanship (0-20) and Painting (0-30).

Battle Points (0-90)
Each game will have 20 points available based on level of victory with an additional 10 points available for achieving strategic objectives.

Battle Points:
Massacre: 20
Victory: 15
Draw: 10
Loss: 5
Loss by Massacre: 0

Scenarios:
The three games are going to be variants on engagements from the BRB all of which will be objective based in some way. All three will have some form of objective or goal to focus on rather than just the obliteration of the opponent.

Prisoner, Game 1

In the course of any conflict prisoners will be taken. Usually these are enlisted grunts, civilians who were in the wrong place at the wrong time or low ranking officers. Sometimes however an army will get lucky and capture someone who is either politically powerful or has information critical to the war. Someone so valuable that he or she must be rescued at all costs.

Deployment- The armies are deployed as per the battle line scenario, with one difference. During the character placement phase the prisoner model will be placed in the center of the 2nd row of a unit of infantry. The prisoner will be represented by a model on a cavalry sized base.
Special rules- The unit that the prisoner is placed in is known for the rest of the game as the Gaoler unit. The prisoner cannot leave the Gaoler unit unless the unit is destroyed or the unit breaks from combat and flees. If either of those things happen and there was an opposing infantry unit in base to base contact the prisoner will move into that unit and that unit will become the new Gaoler. Note if there is no infantry unit that the jailer can enter then he becomes a indendant character under the opponents control, with a movement of 3 (leg irons) a t of 3, 1 wound and a ld of 6. He will remain on his own until he joins a friendly infantry unit or is recaptured. To recapture a prisoner all a unit would have to do is land on the prisoner during the remaining movement phase. A prisoner can only be in a unit of infantry or monstrous infantry.
A Gaoler unit with a prisoner gains the stubborn special rule. Note the prisoner can be killed either by accident (being in a unit hit by a template weapon) or on purpose (being targeted by a spell or missile weapon while outside of a group).
Victory Conditions:
Massacre: 1250+ vp's more than your opponent
Victory: 250 - 1249 vp's more than your opponent
Draw: 0-249 vp's more than your opponent
Battle Point Modifiers:
+3 Points for ending the game in possession of your prisoner.
+4 Points for ending the game in possession of your opponent’s prisoner.
+1 Point per unit killed by the gaoler unit to a maximum of 3 points.

Supply Dump, Game 2
Supply depots are also ripe targets for attackers and also must be defended, since that old adage that an army marches on its stomach is true in any era.
Deployment: The deployment rules from Battle Line in the Warhammer rules with one exception. Before deployment begins each player will place one terrain feature inside their 12 inch deployment zone. This represents their armies supply depot. The rest of the deployment will take place as per the Battle Line scenario.

Capturing Objectives: To claim an objective you must have an unengaged unit within 5" of the center and no enemy units are within 5" of the center.

Victory Conditions:
Massacre: 1250+ vp's more than your opponent
Victory: 250 - 1249 vp's more than your opponent
Draw: 0-249 vp's more than your opponent

Battle Point modifiers:
+5 for each supply depots you control.

Blood and Glory, Game 3

Deployment- Will follow all the rules for the Blood and Glory scenario in the Warhammer

Special Rules: Breaking bringing an army to its break point will not cause the game to end. The game will end either after round six or when time is called.
Victory Conditions:
Massacre: 1250+ vp's more than your opponent
Victory: 250 - 1249 vp's more than your opponent
Draw: 0-249 vp's more than your opponent
Battle Point Modifiers:
+5 Points for breaking the enemy army.
+1 Point for each fortitude point you have greater then the opponent..

Sportsmanship
Points will be awarded by players for sportsmanship
Sportsmanship & Composition Points (0-20)
Players will receive a single Sports/Comp score. We assume that everyone coming to the tournament will be a good sport and because the average score is 10, we will give them those 10 points on credit because we think they will keep them. At the conclusion of each game players will have one question on the score sheet which asks, "Did your opponent's behavior and/or army selection honestly make this a bad game for you?" If you had a bad game because of your opponent's sports or comp, mark him down for a bad game. If someone receives a yes then they will have to give back some of those points given on credit.
1 bad game mark -2 points
2 bad game mark -5 points
3 bad game mark Sportsmanship score of zer30
These are not cumulative modifiers. Only the lowest applicable modifier will be applied. Unlike a simple linear system, each vote is not worth the same. Everyone might have one bad game. But when someone is rude over multiple games there is something going on and it should cost them more, and under this scoring system it will cost them much more.

No one should be worried about being dinged out of spite which is so prevalent in other systems because this system focuses on the consensus of all three of one’s opponents. While one bad vote will cost you points it cannot knock you out of the running because of its small worth. However, when someone scores poorly over several games it is usually their own fault and they deserve what they get. On the flip side, if someone gives you a bad game or has a bad army then don't hold back and be honest about it, one bad game won't hurt them much at all. They will have to have several bad games in order really get dinged, and if that happens, they deserve it.

Best Sport Vote Points
At the end of the tournament everyone will vote for their best opponent. The question will read, "I certify that ______ provided me with the best game of the weekend. His attitude and army selection were outstanding." As with bad game votes, the value of each best game vote goes up dramatically the more of them you get:
1 best game vote +2 point
2 best game votes +5 points
3 best game votes +10 points
The remaining Base Points (after bad game deductions) will be added to the Best Sport Votes to determine the total sportsmanship points.

Painting
Painted armies are not required but should be "WYSIWYG". However, your overall placing will be affected. Each army will be scored during the lunch break. Each army should be set up after Game 1 with this in mind. To be considered for the Best Painted award, each player will need to attest that they painted the majority of their army. This should be noted on their army list.

The painting score for the overall points will be judged based on the following rubric:
- Fully painted with at least three colors - 10
- Fully based (flock, sand, etc) - 5
- Army received both of the above - 5
- Conversion points - 2
- Details are painted (eyes, jewelry, belts) - 2
- Army has multiple highlights / washing / shading – 2
- Army has one or more free handed banner -2
- A painted and based prisoner - 2

There are a total of 30 possible points, with someone who is fully painted and based regardless of the skill of said painting receiving at least 20.

Armies painted by other people are not eligible for Best Painted but will not otherwise affect you.

Each player will also get one vote for best painted army that will be noted on their record sheet. Each vote for best painted will net the painter 10 points that will be combined with the 28 points from the overall paint score. Any ties for best painter will result in a splitting of the prize.

List or rules changes and army construction limits
- Units (ie. core, special and rare choices) are restricted to a cost of 400 pts and a size of 50 models per unit.
