I just moved to State College to continue my education at Penn State after a stint at the University of Texas, but there aren't any nearby game stores that show up on the store-finder at least.

Is there a campus club? Or any club?

Thanks guys.

There are players in Williamsport. If you're willing to drive there's a store in Mansfield (Everything Games), one in Duncansville (Gatehouse Games), Harrisburg (Adventurers Guild) and Philly (Showcase Comics - Media)

There is a club at the university. I don't know if it is very active. http://www.clubs.psu.edu/up/gaps/

I don't know anyone else here that plays. PM if you want to try and get together for a friendly game sometime. (I don't play much anymore so I'm still rather rusty/hazy on the rules).

It's definitely active. Or at least it was when I went, and I've got a friend who's still in it. It's actually where I got into the hobby, even.

Try West Commons GAPS on Saturdays, or the upper level of the HUB on Fridays- the Wargamers will often play things like Warmahordes at the HUB GAPS on Fridays, and usually play 40K on Sundays- If they're still where they were, it's from Noon on on the third floor of Hammond. Great group, really.

I saw them Friday; some knew what 40k was but no one who played it showed up.

Check Hammond on Sunday (tomorrow), then. The door in the middle of the building (on the opposite side from the road) should be open- they meet on the third floor at noon- Go up the stairs, and they should be on the West side of the building, down the hallway a bit- that is, if they're still where they were when I went there.

Sorry for the two-month thread necro, but after two months still no dice. Is there no one out there? (Cue Pink Floyd song "Is there anybody out there")

You have checked with GAPS, right? Or checked the third floor of Hammond on Sunday afternoons? Unless everyone quit or left, there should be at least a few gamers there. One of the guys in my year (should be a Senior this year) was just starting his Ork army I know.

I'll actually check with one of the prior heads of the GAPS tabtletop gaming group, see if he knows anyone. If he's still using the same e-mail, that is.

Unit, I am in state college also looking for some people to game with. I was unsuccessful finding anyone who plays to much around here, both GAPs and the local comic shop have had people that play, but neither regularly apparently. What systems do you play? I have a few small armies I've been working on, so it would be great to actually have a reason to complete them as opposed to just messing around with them when I get inspiration. I've also never played the game, as I'm more of a modeller, but it would be great to finally learn.

Its good to know there are others out there though, haha. Did you check the hammond thing out yet? I wasnt aware there was anything like that in GAPs.

Send me a PM, and maybe we can set somehting up.

Just got a message back from my State College contact, and apparently the GAP Miniatures branch pretty much disbanded after I left (not because of me leaving, mind- it just coincided). Sorry. However, there's a guy named Reid Broendel who plays Orks still- look him up in the campus directory.

I'm about 45 minutes from State College and have been looking for a group! Just found this thread googling "tabletop wargames state college pa" thinking "well, maybe I'll see what people play and take that up instead..."

I know... a little late posting this almost 2 years since you created the thread.... Probably missed my chance.

I've been looking for local games here for years with no luck, I have 3 army's about 8ftx4ft worth of decent wargaming panels lots of mixed terrain, all homemade, just don't have the space to host games. Would be willing to transport my stuff once a week for worthwhile games. And I just don't have the time to travel to gatehouse games in Altoona every week to play. If anyone in state college is interested in working something out pm me or just post here.

I play Imperial Guard, Imperial Guard Armored Battlegroup, a DIY successor to the Iron Hands space marines, and a 30k Legio Cybernetica list that I use in 40k if my opponent agrees to it. I have oodles of points of all of them.

Hey guys, joined dakka just for this post (though ive poked around the forum before). Im a senior at penn state that has been in the same situation as you guys for the last 3+ years. I was a collector for years and have only ever played a few games a few years ago and was hoping i would find some guys here to teach me the game. Alas that was not be. Ive got a bunch of space marines and imperial guard (havnt bothered to point them up for years so im not sure how much but atleast 2k). I would be happy to host too. Ive got my own place currently (no roommates or the like).

Well I'm off weekends all month, I've got room in my vehicle to transport all the panels and whatnot. We could just do 1 or 2 1000pt games at first to refresh with the rules, I assume we are playing 6th ed.? I have loads of dice and extras as well.

I need at least a week or so though, waiting on the new tau codex to come in the mail so I can rework my list, I haven't played since 5th ed.

Well like i said, I am more than happy to host. My place is actually technically in bellefonte but its only about a 10 minute ride from downtown or about 5 from the mall. I work most mornings and the occasional evening but I have a pretty open schedule. Forewarning, I didnt even know sixth edidtion was out so I am way out dated here.

Being outdated or inexperienced is fine - lol. I can help you guys learn - I play a lot when I can, which is whenever I return to Harrisburg for a weekend or two.
