Hi all, well, let's start the Iron Warriors PM with my sorcerer. I started on him this week. The pic above is him converted. The chain cloak and arms are removable, which is good for me as I will need to paint the cloak before I glue those parts down.

I used the Fantasy Manticore Sorcerer, a pair of Space Marine Assault squad legs (which were cut at the knees and the lower halves replaced by the boots from the manticore rider as well). Other that that the model is pretty much stock off the Fantasy kit.

Here are a few shots of him with the start of the paintjob, without his base:

Here is a peek at what I am working on for his base right now:

I love the idea of an Imperial Fist being forced to watch his Fortress and his brothers be destroyed as he suffers a slow, agonising death by crushing chains!

Don't worry, the base is just on that sticky tile so that I could grab it without touching the base or chains as the glue took hold. Hopefully, I will be churning out a painted base this week as well. I might just get my first 20 M2 Iron Warriors fully done by tomorrow as well! Sorry for the photo quality, I was tired when I took these, so I just used the phone rather than my professional camera.

VERY inspired work there on the base; I love it! and "rust in peace", eh? Clever! And I take it that it will be a Nurgle-aligned warband? mind tends to lean towards the rusty side as well!

Thanks for the compliments guys. I figure I should share a couple of the Iron Warriors models I have completed in the past. I started my time as a Chaos player long ago in the Black Legion, but fell out with them over time, played Tyranids for the last couple years and came back. The BL were from an era where my idea of painting trim involved metallic markers, so there needed to be a change. Iron Warriors have always been a favorite of mine from the Black Library Novels and the established fluff, so I started working on them. Over the summer, I got hooked on Fantasy and eventually built and Ogre army (aside from a foray into the Death Wing), but I am now painting IW with renewed gusto!

Here is my take on the Dreadclaw:

A quick and simple tutorial on making dreadclaws from the Drop pod kit can be found here: http://darkfuturegaming.blogspot.com/2010/10/diy-cheap-chaos-dreadclaws-part-1.html

More of the finished product can be found here: http://darkfuturegaming.blogspot.com/2011/01/painted-dreadclaw-drop-pod-conversion.html

Here is a Havoc squad I finished early 2011 as well (before I started liking the IW rusty!):

I have been hitting the hobby hard the last few days. I think I might start posting my Angron WIP here as well for my daemons project as well.

Started work on my Dark Mechanicus themed Obliterators for the Iron Warriors/ other chaos armies I own. I used to have 12 of the metal oblits, but I have decided to get rid of them in order to make something a little more special and closer to my heart as a converter. Here is the first Oblit.

The model is a walk through my bitz box basically. The flamer looking arm is all made from a cut down Kustom Mega Blasta, the shoulder annon is just the Raven Wing upgrade sprue assault cannon with a plastic card upgrade. The chainsaw arm is a cut down Ork bionic arm from Kromlech. The mask is from the Talos kit and the green stuff power cables were made using the Green Stuff Industries SAW-050 Tentacle Maker. Let me know what you think ... oh, and there will be 9 of these bad boys!
