Hello lads and lasses

Well, ive been lurking the forums for longer than i remember, but without a username, never really had a reason to, but hey ho.

Anyway to the point, Im Scottish, despite living in New Zealand. I was really captivated by the Elysians from the IA3. As soon as i saw IA8 Included a new revised army list i had to get all hands on! So inspired by my cultural background and the Elysians, and my love for Airbourne support i churned out this idea.

So armed with money and a few ideas from members of this forums i set to work.

First of, i needed kilts, becuase kilts scream scottish. So i was wondering round the Imperial Gaurd Message board forum, someone was posting links on awesome conversion parts, and found me some kilted cadian legs from Victorian Minitures. She also had a few other things that i got, like the las-rifle arms, and the balmoral heads, becuase the look scottish imo. So, what else did i need? Weapons, lots of kinds. Forgeworld was my first port of call, picked up some Elysian weapons, some krieg weapons and both IG regiments equipment packs. I also have an extreme soft spot for Autoguns, so a renegade aussault weapons pack was thrown in there. Now, i needed shotguns, so Hardened Vets with shotguns took my fancy greatly. Now all i needed was some close combat weapons and a few diffrent pistols. The krieg command upgrade would do nicely, they even have shoulder pads with C's on them! Epic stuff! I also loved the look of the Tauros Venerator, so picked me up one of them. And also a heavy stubber miltia team, becuase i wanted to use it as a heavy bolter, becuase it looked awesome, and i wanted a rough, old look to them too.

All in all, i spent close to $350 (NZ) shipping included i think. Now all i needed was heavy weapons. So to ebay i went. Yes, i didn't go to Games workshop, want to know why? Becuase there NZ prices are amazingly pricey. 1 british pound is about $2 in NZ. So 24 pounds for a nice set of 3 heavy weapons was a nice price, or a nice $50 roaund about.. But im in NZ not britian anymore. So i took a gander at NZ prices $77! What was this? I don't even! GW have hiked there prices, and the crappy finecast were the edge for me. So i refused to buy from them directly. I got a single Catachan heavy weapon team from ebay for cheap, can't remember what for. Anyway. That was me pretty much spending what i was prepped to spend so far.

I also thought ahead of myself and went to warstore, for some bitz! I got everything i needed or wanted to do some awesome conversions. Ashotninja at IG boards made some epic looking special ops guys, so, Scout NV googles and what not were bought. There was also a very nice conversion here by Flinty actually, i laughed when i saw the flag of Scotland on his models, a suprise non the less, but his stalker class rough riders were absolutly amazing, and inspired me to create my own, but i can't get rough riders in IA8 Elysians rules. So Ill modify his ideas and make them more heaviley armed and armoured count as sentinals.

Anyway, ill post up pictures soon with a few kit bashes of them and you can see how they look.

Flinty's stuff is full of wow and it would be wise to take inspiration from them!
