After playing only British for a couple of years, I decided to branch out and build up a German list for Flames of War. I am cheap, so I wanted to assemble an army that could use some of the same models for both Mid War and Late War.

I quite like the Panzer III for killing infantry, you may struggle a bit without any infantry to wrest control of objectives off dug in tough infantry. Maybe some cheap pioneers or Mechanised infantry? On page 50 you could opt for a Scout Recce Infantry unit instead of the 222's? You already have alot of capable AT in the Panzer III's so they can easily chew through the Enemy Mechanized Transport. Page 64 gives some nice Grenadier options, plus expensive but capable Fallschirmjaeger. Maybe you could swap out the Tiger for a Pair of Flak 36's (Anti-Air & Heavy AT)?
Otherwise this is quite a scary list, lots of armour, which for a German Force is rare.

I find the PzIIIs can handle most Infantry. They can either shoot it up with ROF 3, or assault it. If you start watering the PzIIIs and other armour down, it doesnt work.

I love my PanzerIIIs
its kinda humerous when you tell your opponent you have a RoF3 main gun, although its pretty useless against most tanks.
I use them as assault guns with Turrets in my FJ. They are good against dug in infantry with their high RoF and decent firepower.
I like the StuGs in your list. Some extra punch at range for the allied tanks.
I do think you could use some AA. German Air support is too weak to rely on interception. I like the suggestion of dropping the Tiger for some 88s. Less mobile, but more shots and you have AA too.

That's a brilliant list. Really well thought out but looks like it would be fun to play. The Tiger is very cool, but maybe some 88's would work better? How has the company fared in the battles you've played so far?

I beat Steven with it, so it worked out well!
It is pretty good -- 15 Tanks is hard for US/Brits to deal with -- this isnt made for Soviets.

Definitly, my US armor has more trouble with Panzer IV and StuG companies then it does with the Big Cats.
Soviets on the other hand...

Nice list. Lots of armour. I'd opt out of the air support in favour of, well, not sure.
I do agree with the 88s over the Tiger. I think the StuGs more than provide mobile AT, and the addition of the 88 Pl woild deter EN aircraft and any armour.

How would it handle a large British Rifle Company (mortars etc) with AT and Arty support?

I dont know. I imagine it would do ok. Two things, guys:
1) I posted this out of Dogs and Devils and we generally play out of the same books around here -- we mostly build lists that come from the same book sets to help balance. So, this list won't generally see Soviets at all and MAY see some West Front allies out of other books.
2) I didn't post that list analysis as a "The is the L33T best EVAH!" -- this is just a list that I like out of D&D and thought others would be interested in the process I went through to create it and the result.
This may be the worst list in the world in your opinion, and that's just fine with me. I happen to like it. You guys happen to like some tweaks which are all interesting suggestions! -- keep'm coming. Others who have not looked at lists like this can take what I put up, what others have suggested, and hopefully come up with something they think is cool too.

Personally, I think this is a great looking list, balanced for a list of possible threats. Then again I already have D&D and am building a US 3ID force and a HG Heavy Recon force to counter each other so I am biased. Aagh, now I would really like to try the tank list. FoW really does pull you in. Glad to be feeling the love after years of hating the unbalanced mess that is 40K (IMHO).

I think with the British Infantry, you would probably smash them to pieces with the high ROF. The 8 gun or potentially 12 gun Artillery batteries might be another issue, however you have alot of mobile firepower so I imagine if you make a beeline for them you will neutralise their Arty very quickly.
I like the idea of using same book, rather than era. It's a nice idea might try and introduce that with my group.
