The Inquisitorial Special Operations and Studies Command is a group within the Inquisition that consists mainly of elite Imperial Guardsmen from a variety of regiments and stormtroopers companies. They are seconded to Lord Inquisitor Colonel Leod Kazuo, former officer of the 113th Airbourne regiment. The group conducts services for all branches of the Inquistion; however, their most prominent service is found in that of the Ordo Malleus. They are often found along side inquisitorial and Imperial Guard forces in assisting them against attacks on Chaos Warbands and daemon incursions. The group often take part in attacks on Daemon worlds; battles that often results high casualties. Unlike the majority of the Ordo Malleaus, the ISOSC does not execute the guardsmen they fought along side but rather inducts them into their ranks on the belief that a guardsmen that fought against and survived the daemons has the skill and invaluable experience as well the loyalty for future operations. However, should any forces involved lose against daemons, all men involved in the operation would be executed to avoid contamination and corruption. Despite assisting the fact that the ISOSC assists the Inquisition in various Operations, the Colonel is barred from calling in the Grey Knights due to his radical stance on various issues(ie: not executing the guardsmen, uses less humanlike abhumans, hires some xeno mercenaries, works alongside the Tau at times etc).
Doctrines and equipment.
The ISOSC uses mainly light vehicles and aircraft for their operations. They have permanent pool of Valkyries, Vendettas and vulture gunships to draw from which are provided by the regiments they induct.
Much like various drop regiments, they strike deep behind enemy lines and take out key enemy installations and units essentially destroying the enemy from the inside. Also, they often take part in recon and important artifact retrieval as well.
As they did in their former Guard regiments, all men make use of the venerated lasgun. The meltagun is also prevalent due to its silent but deadly nature and its ability to take almost anything down.
One notable piece of equipment all members have implanted in their bodies is a small incendiary device that detonates in approximately 10 minutes after the death of the user or upon decapitation where the corpse is engulfed in flames essentially destroying the body. This measure was taken to prevent the bodies of the men from being use as trophies and political devices. High Ranking Officers on the field have instead melta bombs in their bodies.
I'll add more later, but anything I can improve on fluff wise? Any ideas? Any thing that doesn't make sense?
