Subject: Spacewolves VS genestealer diorama + Studio McVey Ruby - pic heavy + video
Very nice. As a tyranid player myself, I really like the tension between the space wolf and the genestealer. It's as if the're waiting for the other to react.
"As I looked into its dead black eyes, I saw the terrible sentience it had in place of a soul. Behind that was the steel will of its leader. Further still I could feel its primogenitor coldly assessing me from the void. And looking back from the furthest recesses of the alien's mind... I can only describe it as an immortal hunger. It is this we cannot kill."

Your painting is Immaculate my friend very well done but i cant help but feel the posing on your Wolf/ Stealer Diorama is dynamic enough, seeing as i play both i cant help but feel it doesn't quite give off the feeling of an enraged space viking or a cunning and deadly beast, but then again i might just be me....

I love dioramas, but I feel more critical of them than any other aspect of this hobby. This diorama, while expertly painted, leaves me feeling empty-handed on the action department. Rather than looking like a moment frozen in time, the figures come across looking like mannequins. They don't seem like they're acting so much as they are posing. Now, I understand that not every diorama has to be combat-oriented, and after looking at it a bit I feel like what you were trying to go for was capturing that moment of stillness when the two enemies see one another, right before the combat starts. I feel like the Tyranid could use a more low-slung, slinking predator kind of look to his pose, while the Space Wolf could do with a bit more surprise (or resolve, depending on your choice) in his body posture.
Your Ruby is gorgeous, by the way, as is your tank. I don't want you to think I don't like your work, I just feel like you show enough skill at the craft to be able to do so much more with the diorama. I hope this helps.
