Found these miniatures and were wondering who makes these? I think they are rip-offs from Warhammer 40k but not sure. Either way they are wonderful looking mini's! Would like to see what else this guy does!

With a name like 28 (if that is the name of the company that makes them), googling will never work to find them without some serious search-fu.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

The demon is okay if a little too much like the original style.

The not-commissar just looks like a clumsy conversion of a GW model.

That's because it *is* a clumsy conversion of a GW model.

Both are quite clearly conversions. No quote/unquote "ripoffs" at all.

There's quite a few companies that make what you are calling "rip-offs".

They are generally models that GW doesn't produce and if they do, they're so old and gross that people purchase them from other companies.

Funny thing is, since GW quite literally doesn't own any prior art on anything they make, they can't sue these companies unless they use Warhammer names.

That obliterator looks...different. The commissar is ugly though. I can't tell if I could handle the oblit or not, but definitely not the commie. It's awful.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

They sure can go after them if they are using GW bits (which both clearly do) for conversions then casting them as original models. Of course there's little going after them in Russia I would say.

The Commissar looks as if it was styled/made from 2nd-Edition era miniatures. I kind of like it, actually (but I'm a nostalgic fool).

This wouldn't be the first Russian company I've seen produce GW-like miniatures. I don't read (or speak) Russian, so I can't help out with the blog that was linked to.

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

No link to an actual site selling the stuff though (my Russian is subpar) ? There seems to a few countries from Eastern Europe these days that are using direct knock offs of GW minis (ie the Cain minis where he's standing on a recast of a Carnifex's head).... =/

I see, nice to know where these things came from and what they are. When I found these they were for sale on ebay, the obliterators were 3 in a pack for £30 and the commisar was with another commisar for £20.
