Bristol, England

Hello and welcome to our first official Cut and Thrust Warhammer 40k Championship. For you who don’t know who we are let me take a moment to give you an over view of us.

‘Cut and Thrust Wargaming’ was set up two years ago this May in Bristol South west UK for the people overseas. The focus of Cut and Thrust has always been the community. Being situated within Bristol’s city centre with fantastic public transport links we have over the last two years built up what we believe to be a wonderful gaming experience for our patrons.

Im Alex the owner of the store and long time dakkaite with a background in set design/building and obviously Wargaming in all it’s forms. I have always had a passion for building, over the years I have made a rather jazzy array of terrain suitable for tournaments and more importantly creating a wonderful place to play on a regular basis for our members.

Then there is Dan he has been working here almost from the start. Bringing to the party, experience in both playing and running events over the years and also a large amount of enthusiasm for the hobby. Combined Dan and I have been at this for over 40 years. When I say “At this” I mean having fun and enjoying our hobby! This is our focus. We want to give our customers a wonderful gaming experience and a place to come and game which is friendly clean and welcoming.
With wonderful role models to follow like Maelstrom and Firestorm we too feel we have entered the realms of gaming utopia just without the internet stores as that sounds like too much hard work and will get in the way of our gaming!

The venue itself is spread over 3 floors and can easily host over 50 gamers with a shop on the ground floor selling all the usual Games Workshop, Privateer Press, Wyrd and Battlefront miniatures plus various other systems and manufactures.

Without further rambling...

Our very own ‘Cut and Thrust Wargaming’ 40k championship! The first Championship will be held over 2 heats where players get a chance to qualify for the finials which will be held later in the year.
This is your chance to get involved with something that we hope will become one of the most “unique and premier” events in our area.

Each round one will be a one day event with a limit of only 16 players. During which 4 games will be played. After both qualifiers the result will give us two groups of players who will all come together for the final these lucky few will play in a two day event battling it out to determine who wins a place in the coveted Cut and Thrust hall of fame engraved on the (soon to be infamous) Sabre!

It’s all grim dark in the far future so let us bring some much needed light to the 41st millennium with our first championship at Cut and Thrust Wargaming.

The qualifiers will not be “Rankings” but the finals will have their results uploaded to “Rankings HQ” THIS IS AN OPT IN if you wish your results uploading to Rankings HQ be sure to check the box on your tournament form when you hand it in with your results at the event.

But what it boils down to is:
Sunday 15th April Round one qualifiers
Sunday 8th July Round two qualifiers
Bring with you:
• Dice
• Tape measure
• Two Army lists of 1500 points (be sure that one copy is handed in at the start)
• Rule books, codex and any relevant errata/faq.

We will be playing 4 games with a lunch break at the half way point. More information will be released closer to the day.

After the two qualifying rounds have finished the people who make it through to the finals will get a rules pack posted out to them with tickets and information about the day which will be held in October. We will have a reserves list for the rounds as we expect places to fill quickly.
Best of luck comrades.

I'd be well up for this if you hadn't managed to schedule them both against us
