Can anyone recommend an ACW ruleset for me in 28mm? Looking at Perry Miniatures.

Nothing too crunchy - just looking for something I can pickup, on par with Warhammer, etc.

Thanks - Mez

Black Powder?

It'll require a bit of work, since you'll have to make the profiles for the troops yourself (you can also check out the Warlord Games forum, since plenty of people have posted army lists for ACW in the Black Powder section), but there's an ACW scenario in the book that'll help you along with that. The game's pretty simple in and of itself, and yet allows for a great game that, with the right amount of tinkering, can easily give you that 'period feel' you're looking for.

I do also believe that the Perry miniatures come with a set of rules you could use.

We play;

Blackpowder - A little generic but great for fast games.

Guns at Gettysburg - Superb game with lots of period flavour, but takes longer.

Bull Run to Gettysburg - Kinda sits between the other two, fast but with some flavour.

I like and play all three on a regular basis.

There are many others though...

Gettysburg Soldiers. Easy to learn, and plays on any scale.

You might want to try the Twofatlardies "They couldn't hit and elephant" rules, good fun game, based on the Sharpe Practice set.

Or brother vs brother gives a nice 28mm game.
