I'm reaching out to the Dakka FOW community for some help in finding a cheap source of buildings or building materials for an urban theme set of bases. I'm starting a 78. Sturmdivision army and want to go hog-wild with the bases, not just slap some pumice and sand and call it a day.

I know Battlefront has a pack of ruined walls, but $3.50 for 4 small pieces of metal is too cost-prohibitive for an entire army. I'm looking for help in finding a good, cheap source of buildings or ruins to use as a foundation. I have the floor/street texture under control, it's the walls and stuff where I'm at a loss. I looked into Hirstarts molds, but their "small brick" still seems a bit too big for 15mm, and I am also looking for more than just "brick" walls.

What about the "Tiny Bricks" molds from Keebler Studios? Does anyone have experience with those? Might they be the right scale?

Has anyone worked with the 15mm ruins from Ironclad Miniatures?

Thanks in advance, fellow Dakkaites.

Battlefront makes a set of plastic rubble bases that are pretty nice.

Yeah, I just don't want my bases to essentially be the same as everyone else's, if you know what I mean. I'm far more a modeller and kitbasher than I am a game player. I just need some foundation work. If nothing else, I can scratch build it with plasticard and stuff, but I was figuring there might be something I could build off of rather than scratch build.

Antenocitis Workshop have a selection of 15mm odds n' sods for basing. Its a fantastic shop.

You can also try any Architectural modelshop (like 4D here in London). These places invariably have a huge selection of random things in the right scale.

Off course making sand backs is easy with green stuff, brick as well and match sticks for timber/wood.
