Lack of fuel and cars themselves I assume. The railways are still using stock from at least as far back as the Second World War. But the real reason is probably to limit people's movement.
I think it's a fascinating country. Like the journalist I wonder why they bother with the obvious Potemkin act though...
I do hope for the sake of the North Korean people that this slight opening up under Kim Jong-Un is the start of a Juan Carlos I type effort.

Yea, I wonder when the people will finally have enough and stand up against this kind of treatment. Their country can prosper, specially if they dont have jerk offs trying to control every aspect of their lives.
