Hey guys
I just need some help figuring out which troops will be used for the ''game''
I think 4 line kazak and 1 veteran kazak would do well (ignoring special rules)
But for the second army, I have no idea.
My brother will probably play Combined Army. Is there an equivalent to my kazaks in C. Army ?
Thanks !

Well, unfortunately there's no nice neat equivalent, as all of CA's Line troops have at least one complication (Morat, Seed-Embyro, Irregular or Impetuous), and are mostly more pricey than Line Kazaks. If I had to suggest any of them, Morat Vanguard would seem the best choice, but he would get fewer troops or fancy weapons than you.
To keep it simple, it might be better to have him use a human force for the rules sampler game(s), and move on to the fancier stuff later on.

Shas-vastii have strange deployment and they're not really ideal.
Morats are as 'basic' as you can get. They're somewhat expensive, but they are all Regular and Not Impetuous. The "Morat" status is always an advantage and only really matters when it comes to Retreat.
They can also pretty much do everything. Morat Vanguard Infantry have total availability, can be your lieutenant, have fundamental heavy weapons such as HMGs, sniper rifles, etc, have a paramedic, and have the cheap rifle-variant.
You can add Yaogats or the really heavy Suryats as you see fit, and there's barely any special rules. Both have heavier armor, Suryats especially are just annoyingly tough. Zerats are a great introduction into infiltration.
Overall, Morats are as close as you'll get to 'basic' troops, and they're really not that problematic. Haqqislam players can easily grasp Religious Troops all over the place. Combined Army newbies should be able to grasp Morats.

And just wait until the Morat's T.A.G. is released - I have high hopes for it!

But with any game, you still don't want to be learning the exceptions before you've learnt the actual rules. Morat is not a complex special rule, but it's still a special rule.
Add in the fact that Morat Vanguard are almost twice as expensive as Line Kazaks... if you're just playing a rules crash course with proxy models, use some humans. Maybe one model with some special rules to add some spice, but the base line troops should be as close to "bog standard" as possible.

I still disagree. I learned the game just fine using a Haqqislam force with half the relevant models being Religious Troops. I was told that Religious Troop was an exception and it was really fine. 'Retreat' doesn't come up until later in the game anyways, and it's not something you really plan around unless you have experience.
Rifle Line Kazaks are 9pt each. Combi Rifle Morat Vanguard are 16pt each. Morats are paying 7pt more for the Combi, better CC, better PH, and being Morats.
CC and PH may not come up too often in an intro game, but the Combi Rifle is still rather useful.
Morats also get a HMG troop that is cheaper than the Kazaks' HMGer (because Kazaks have the not-so-useful AP ability).
Veteran Kazaks get a Heavily armored Mimetism HMG + Flamethrower unit. Morat Suryats get a cheaper HMG unit with the same armor and BS and everything for cheaper without the Mimetism.
Veteran Kazaks have No Wound Incap. Suryats have 2Wd. They're really comparable.

So here is a question: Nisses, in order to get a Multi Sniper Rifle, have a 1,5 value listed as their SWC cost. What do I use? 1, 5, or 1.5?

It's 1.5
Europeans use the comma where Americans use the period as a decimal point.

That's a pretty good Morat list I think. A pretty perfect 150pts.

It's not that clear cut. Most of Europe uses the period decimal.
