I haven't done it but I've heard it's a bit confusing. If you use the rules as is you just rotate active player and the two others are reactive.

Are you talking three separate forces or teams. Teams is obviously easier.

yeah 3 teams...
Just wondering how it goes
I remember 3 players FFA being incredibly unbalanced due to a player standing in the back and watching for the right moment to wreck opposition.

We use modified rules for multiplayer where each player of a team activates a model at the same time, however they only generate a single ARO between the two of them.

3 players is always a magical number for doom though. Much preferred to do something like 1 v 2 with the single player having an objective that is substantially harder than the 2 players.

Try the Lost Post mission- I've found it to work well with 3 players. If one player is getting the objective accomplished too fast the other two swoop on him- and 3 players also open up the possibility of "vulture tactics" (waiting for opponents to get the objective in their model's hands and get out the door- then you swoop on them).

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

I had quite mixed experience with multiplayer. Once we tried free for all with 4 players. The game lasted for like 3 hours. No one could move due to multiple AROs and we basically ended in the stalemate. This could maybe work with some special mission or some arraignment of terrain but I din't like it.
On the other hand we played 2v1 once and it was really good game. The guy who played alone had 300 p list while two of us playing against him had 150 p lists. In my opinion you have to try it and see if it works for you.
