I thought I would start a P&M blog here on dakka for a few reasons. I have lurked here for years and I thought it was time to help contribute something to the site.. I have played 40k since 07 but till recently I have started putting effort into painting..I have always enjoyed modeling but painting is something I have stayed away from a bit..But getting back into I have started to enjoy it. So as I post more and more of my Orks please feel free to leave tips on how I could improve my painting.(I am very proud of my Orks but my tank painting skills are a bit weak)

I will start off with what I had so far... I have plenty of orks half painted so I will leave those out which are not to interesting. I have bashed together and painted a IG chimera which I am going to count as a trukk for a squad of death skulls. I am pretty happy with the model.. The paint job isnt that great IMO but it was really the first tank i have painted and I learned a LOT from it so its not as if it was a waste and I am comfortable with throwing it on the table at the FLGS so it will get plenty of use.

The next is a looted wagon I just got done with right before starting this...I will end up with a ton of looted wagons.. I was given 2 more LRBT, 1 Demo tank and a bassi which will all be turned into boom wagons.

Next are the few fully painted Orks that I do have..The two boys need to be based and sealed but other then that they are done...I am very proud of them and the nob..Which i enjoyed painting quite a lot and I am sure ill end up with a ton of those since i enjoyed it so much. I am going to try and add in some IG bits to some of the models who will be riding around in the looted chimera to add some more flavor.

Oh and a note about my army. I do not plan to run them purely painted as death skulls. I may end up with more death skulls then anything else partly due to modeling. But I have plans to have a squad of 30 "shoota boyz" who are going to be snakebites with bows. Plans for a speedy looking looted devilfish that will be for a squad of evil suns and a tough looking ork trukk for a squad of goffs.

Hey there Ullrum! I like the rusted look on that chimera-trukk but personally think it could look a little bit more 'fragile?' for an AV10 trukk, still a good looking model though.

That russ is looking nice already, a nice more-than-square shape to the turret.

I'm more of a modeller and not so good in the painting department so I commend you on putting the effort in to improve there, it seems to really have worked judging by the painted ones you've posted, nice stuff.

One of the many reasons why orks are more fun to play; Bosspoles:

"Roight ladz!, Barry's dead, an' if you don't kill dat fing Steve's dead too, alroight!!?"

I seem to have started a blog: http://therustywartrakk.blogspot.co.uk/

Thanks for all the replies guys!

On the looted wagon i was going for the basic set up..Boom gun and thats it...no ard case and no extra weapons..Its a decent filler when I have just a few points left over and need somethin cheap to fill up a list...I think Ill have the bassi I have be the same set up as well.

Small sunday update. Got a good deal on some Ork stuff over the weekend. Few boxes of boys, box of bikes and a trukk.. I spent this morning playing with the trukk kit. I really like the ork trukk kit. It has a great ramshackle look and a nice Ork charm to it... But i put some work into it to help it stand out...This will be the trukk for a unit of goffs. I tried to make it look a bit more rough and tough since thats a bit of the fluff for Goffs..being the strongest and toughest and I think it came out pretty well and is very fitting..

Once I stopped i realized that it looked a lot like the forge world ork trukk with the closed cab. I didnt do that on purpose but i have always liked that model so a bit of my subconscious was playing a part while i built it.

The only thing I have left to do on the model is add in rivets.

Very nice I especially like the grille and the enclosed gunner cabin, quick question though is that twin shoota magnetized or glued.

Thanks!

The turret is its own piece. I built the square turret..then put a piece of plastic tube on the bottom of the turret then drilled a hole in the top of the cabin..so it swivels all the way around and also lifts right out. So i can remove it on the off chance it gets blown off or i can swap it out for a rokkit turret if i wanted.
