Loving it so far, sure its a fairly routine trip down Zombie killing-ville but its got this feel to it, I just cant place.
Decent GFX, sound, lots of missions, a good plot + expansion plot (if you pay + DL it), nice engine and a bit of an RPG element rather than your "blast em up Zombie games" that have been out of late.
Worth €30? not sure but so far quite enjoyable.
Plus a really awesome trailer imho. Trippy.

It's a fun, good game which was sadly marred on PC by a horrible horrible release where Steam gave out the Xbox Debug mode version or something silly.
I've got it, not played much though.

I've played through it a couple times. I like it, but it does seem more enjoyable if you hang around the starting half a bit as it does get a bit repetitive later on (sewers...). Though for a good reason as who would really walk around a city on the surface...
I went with the sharp weapons character, though I did not put any points into the rage mode tree. Kicking is surprisingly effective, though becomes less so later on in the game. One part I didn't like so much was the Zombies scale in level with you, I'd rather they scale in quantity instead to balance to your leveling. I've heard the blunt weapons guy is also good, due to the abundance of blunt weaponry as well and the durability most of it seems to have. I'd say if you see it and like zombie movies, pick it up then stay in the first half and do all the side quests before moving along the main story line.
Borrowed it from my friend, went the gun person, was really enjoying the sun, beach, beach-houses etc.
then it switched to that other place...
NOPE, did not like it one bit, esecially not the other people with guns. I think I got to the bit where they needed you to get over to the other side of the bridge. It wasn't a bad game, I just didn't like the shift from the beach and the plot seemed to of dug it's heels in a bit.
If you do get it KC, try and find a machete, then aim for the neck/arms, it's so OP it's not funny.
I hated it.
What I was expecting was an open world survival horror game with an excellent and coherent story.
What I got was the unholy lovechild between borderlands and left 4 dead.

I had intended to buy it, but after watching a few Let's Plays (pretty much how I decide if I'm going to buy a game these days) I was sufficiently put off to avoid it. Conceptually the game could be alright but it seems too repetitive, much as FA3 can be, but without the cool world to keep you playing.
I think it would have been better off going for something more character focused, with an emphasis on actual survival rather than simply mowing down zombie hordes. Maybe something like Deus Ex: HR without all the huge advantages Jensen gets.
