You need bows, you really, really do. But beside from that the list is okay

could drop 2 iron guard with gimli for 5 archers

and yeah my friend dosent see the point in archers, i keep telling him their good but he disagrees every time

Bows can tip the tide before your rock hard dwarves have even met, 2 iron guard for 5 bows is a bargain! I suggest a brick to his head, it may knock the sense into him

2 iron guard is 30, 5 rangers with bows is 40 i have 40 points spare in this list if i drop them
but it makes an illegal warband

Here are some steps to remedy that.

1. get a better gaming partner
2. Win matches
3. Sucsees

But in all seriosness, in double games you really need a partner who knows how to play. Unlike your buddy who seems like a walking disaster

But seriously, I thought that as long as your bow limit isn't crossed then it doesnt matter in warbands warbands the army? Which would mean they are fine what your mate needs to realise that while having both khazad guard and iron guard is great there isn't room to do so in this points limit, all your opponent would have to do is kill 6 bowmen and then run rings around your slow dwarves, it would be a massacre, 12 makes that a lot harder and gives you some real firepower

i play tested it the other day and massacred elves as in he lost they lost there whole army i (my friend was ill) lost 12 models
and i have realised something all the missions you roll for warbands on 1-3 they come in withing 12" of the centre on 4-6 you chose
which means my dwarves can get stuck in nice and early
