Draigo-275

Paladins x5 -305
+incinerator
+psycannon
+master crafted sword (1)

Strike Squad x10 - 280
+2 psycannons
+psybolt
+rhino

Dreadnought- 140
+TL autocannon
+Heavy Flamer
+psybolt

Total: 1,000 even

Basic idea, run the paladins with draigo as the muscle of the list, equipped with unique loadouts for would allocations. Use the GKSS to run right up the middle of the board or toward objectives. I will probably keep them as a group of 10 for holding an objective and use Draigo's grand strategy to allow the dreadnought to sit on an objective in capture and control games. The only thing I am considering with this list is to change Draigo for a libby and drop the paladins and add another 10 man strike squad + rhino.

Well, at smaller pt levels, I'd consider a force based on power armor GK's and leave the expensive Paladins at home. Five Paladins will also die in small pt games.

grand strategy lets a unit "capture objectives as if it were troops". vehicles cant capture objectives, even if they are troops (ork dreads with a mek, transports, ravenwing speeders etc)

remember that the best thing you have access to is the humble stormbolter and his buddy, the psycannon. more of those is much better than a 2+save.

i'd suggest taking a few strike squads in rhinos, kitted up with pscannons and hammers if possible/needed.

if you are dead set on draigo and buddies, go all for it - take a rifle dread for saturation, draigo himself then nothing but pallies..... makes for a cool list but it only takes a vindicator or another gk army to ruin your day ;-)

Thanks for the critiques guys looks like I am gonna swap out the 300 points of paladins for another 10 man strike squad and a rhino. Ill also replace Draigo with a Libby (I think). At that point I might have the points to squeeze in a second dread.

vehicles cant capture objectives

Read the FAQ. GS'd GK Dreadnoughts and venerables may in fact capture objectives.

At 1000 points you really need to go either Drago plus all paladins or go for a cheap-ish HQ and power armour troops.

The Dreadnought is a good idea I think.

Perhaps:

Brotherhood Champion with psybolts - 105

10 man Strike Squad with hammer, 2 psycannon and psybolts - 250
Razorback with TL assault cannon and psybolts - 85

10 man Strike Squad with hammer, 2 psycannon and psybolts - 250
Rhino - 40

Dreadnought with 2 x TL autocannon and psybolts - 135

Dreadnought with 2 x TL autocannon and psybolts - 135

1000

Fair amounts of firepower, both AT and anti-infantry, decent assault and you can combat squad and deepstrike if necessary to get to far-flung objectives. Obviously with no GM the dreadnoughts won't be scoring but you'd potentially (with combat squadding) have 4 scoring units anyway.

Follow these two simple rules to ensure a happy Dakka experience:

Rule 1 - to be a proper 40K player you must cry whenever a new edition of the game is released, and always call opposing armies broken when you don't win.

Rule 2 - Games Workshop are always wrong and have been heading for bankrupcy within 5 years since the early 90s.

Razorback can only hold 6, so unless the squad is gonna footslog that should probably be a rhino yes?

And do they make a model for the brotherhood champion?

I'd combat squad them so two psycannon were in one squad and deep strike or objective-camp with one cs or the other. You could use Crowe as a Brotherhood Champion, he's much the same ruleset and look. The razorback is better as you get an extra (and TL) psycannon and at this level more firepower can only be a good thing

Automatically Appended Next Post:
You could 'cheat' and run a cheap inquisitor as an HQ which would free up more points but I'm not really certain that the spare points could be spent on much of great use.
