Hi fellow dakkites. I'm thinking of starting Necrons and have come up with a small list of 750 points.

I would like it if any changes could be kept within the battleforce and a few boxes as It's my birthday soon and i need to know what to get before i ask.

Also, Could any changes have No vehicles. Command barges maybe but i didn't think they were viable in 750.

Anyway. Here's the list

HQ's

Overlord with Phaeron, ressurection orb. 140
Royal court. 2 lords with ressurection orbs 130

Troops
16 Necron warriors (with a lord) 198
16 Necron warriors (with a lord) 198

5 Necron Immortals 85

Total 751
I'll be up against a khornate based CSM army consisting roughly of a DP with MoN, Doombolt and wings. 1CSM with flamer and HB, 10 KB and a LR.

I'll also be up against a mixed daemon army with 10 of all the standard daemons a blood thirster and some seekers i think.

My friends accept the 1 point over the 750 limit so please don't pick me up on that.

Do the OL/lords have scythes, mss, and whatnot?
If so, cool, if not, get them.

I think i would drop the immortals, and maybe a warrior to afford maybe some scarabs to counter vehicles or tarpit.

Perhaps you could grab some deathmarks to counter that demon prince?

If I were you I'd put the Overlord in a Barge.

They're just so good. It would also beef up your anti-tank and partially make up for your total lack of long ranged shooting. I'd also drop enough Warriors to put some Harbingers of Destruction and if you really want to smash some faces I'd put in some Annihilation Barges. They shred Daemon Princes.

I guess i could stich the Immortals for deathmarks. But they are more expensive than Immortals so I'd have to cut down On lots of Warriors If i wanted scarabs inb there too. Other than that thanks for the List changes. Got any tactical ideas on how to take on the Daemons?

Since your are gaming on a budget I won't tell to to unit X , Y & Y, I'll just comment on your list.

You only need on Res Orb per unit, so keep it on your Overlord.
Make the Immortals with Tesla if you can, so you move and shoot 24'
You might want to make the overlords Unit 20 Warriors, to gain the maximum use.

I can see this list working OK but just try and stay out of combat unless you almost certainly going to win it easily. Your lacking in any AT or than Gauss glancing and the lords war scythes. Again the lords are your only real CC threat and are in units that should be avoiding Combat.

Edit - I am not going to say Pure Footsloggers builds are bad, they can work but you are going to have to rely on the Nercons toughness and RP rolls to win you games. At low points play a defensive game unless you want to be cut down before you get into range. Convert some Cyptecs and maybe think about investing in either sypders (Scarcb Farm) or Lychguard (Walking Cover Wall) for higher points games.

Monster rain. I said in the OP that I want NO BARGES. No tanks of any kind. That why its a footslogger army. No vehicles. Just infantry. I think that taking Deathmarks is the best plan instead of the immortals. I guess then a could have two suads of 10 warriors with the lords and a 12 man squad with the overlord.

I would like to re point out that Although Annihalation barges are very good and very cheap points wise. I still want no tanks of any kind. Maybe a ghost ark or two in larger games. 1500+ or so but fo now. No tanks PLEASE!!!!!!

Hence my not unreasonable misunderstanding. You might also consider what's in a battleforce before purchasing it if you're so anti-vehicle.

I just... *snicker* couldn't believe what I was reading.
(the best entry in the codex, which only costs 80 points, isn't viable in low point games? If you bring one of those things to the table, 9 out of 10 times, your opponent will have nothing to deal with it. I'd see if I could fit TWO in, if I could!)

Thanks for the constructive criticism there skoffs. Is it really that bad not to take vehicles in a 750 necron list?

Oh and btw the Necrons i saw pwn had 3900 points and only had one Ghost Ark and 1 annihalation barge. The rest were warriors and immortals with tesla carbines.

No, it's not like it's impossible (and granted, Foot-Crons can be viable given the right circumstance), but it's just ... why would you want to avoid using the best thing in the coodex?
