I have a game coming up with a friend of mine and we're running it at 500 points. Although i have a basic idea of what i want (including my model limitations etc.) i'm stuck on a final list. He plays regular space marines and so i know he's going to be packing some pretty heavy gear. Anyway, i've narrowed it down to a 'shooty' and an 'Assault-y' list. Any help would be much appreciated.

The Shooty List:

Chaos Lord
MOS
Power weapon

5x Noise marines
5x Sonic blasters - To keep the lord safe and counter assault

6x Noise marines
6x Sonic blasters - To cause general mayhem

5x Havocs
2x Autocannons - To home sit and shoot


The Assaulty list

Chaos lord
MOS
Blissgiver (daemon weapon) - For the instant kill- awesomeness

5x Noise marines - To babysit the lord
Rhino

6x Noise marines - For the AP 3 flamer template
Champ w/ PW and Doom siren
Rhino

Edit: - I'm 30 points short on the Assault list...

Throw in another Noise Marine that's 25 points.

The assualty force can also shoot the living feth out of Loyalists. And the heightened initiative will win you battles.

I think you'll go further with the first list.

I'd take a Sorcerer w/ MoS, lash and hide him in an NM squad. In small pt games you need numbers.

What list should i put the sorceror in?
