So it was established that my army list in the last post was reasonably good as it is, and to be honest if I were to pull my finger out I would have it painted in a fortnight maybe........... So I wanted to build onto my KoM army but not with a KoM warband, I want to add an elven warband. I was thinking along the lines of:

Legolas
12 Elves w/ bow

186pts (I think!)

So there is no armour with this dudes but that's fine given most enemy bows are str2. I would drop the bows on the riders of rohan to make the limit on bows. 15str 3 shots will cause trouble for any army and on 3+ too.

Thoughts anyone?

3 lots of this perhaps? They are good shots and can take all bow contingents due to the 'Grey company' rule

The last few points can be used to add riders of rohan.

Yeah it sucks, but it's to stop people using the best parts of each army

Yeah that would work but remember that still have to take hero for the rangers to go into a warband, with the rangers of the north being independent heroes and all

Oh, and remember that the bow limit and allies counts with your rohan and minas tirth joint army, so you may have to many rohan bows in that?

Yeh my rohan will need a re-jig to accommodate my bow totting riders, no worries there though. Just reduce the value of my MT warband and increase the rohan one slightly.

That's a spanner in the works, what a stupid rule! Why have them as an independent character then?? May have to roll this then, not a bad thing when you consider what's in it for the points:

Halbarad is a really good hero but looks good grey company are a great way to get some extra bows into your army

How viable do you think a full grey company is? Would be damn fun either way tbh

Very. They suffer against magic due to no real resistances and also apart from Aragorn very few fate but I seriously view them as one of the better armies of this format, an all bow army being possible
