I am looking for the Intel book that could help me do the 2nd SS Would it be Earth and Steel ? I am trying to do them as a later war army. But would like to do them as they where in Krusk but if not I am ok with that.

Kursk is technically a midwar battle, so if you wanted to do that, Eastern Front would be the book for you.

If you want to do 2. SS in Late War though, then yeah, Earth and Steel is what you want.

Eastern Front is the most up to date Mid War book covering the, well, Eastern Front. Ostfront is the older version, but it's still completely legal. I'd recommend getting Eastern Front for Mid War unless you already have a copy of Ostfront, or if you find a copy somewhere that's a lot cheaper or something.

While Eastern Front is the most current book, it still isn't 100% kosher with v3 rules. Points costs are going to be a bit off.

The bigger issue could be your ruskie opponent with "new" hens and chicks and "old" tank prices. I haven't heard too much bellyaching, but it is out there. Battlefront has said they will update things, most likely in a pdf type "das book", but who knows when that will get around for mid war is their money maker and the Barbarossa push is the next big theater to tackle, su my gut says don't expect much movement on Mid war for awhile.

It's still 100% version 3 legal though, and you won't have to worry about points costs being off because there aren't any other eastern front books for Mid War coming out anytime soon. Mid War is more or less complete at this point. Any other Mid War army you play against is most likely going to be coming from either Eastern Front or North Africa, so there really is no problem. If you want to do Mid War on the eastern front, then the book Eastern Front is what you want. I doubt it will take them too long to release a PDF update, and there is always the option of just using the old version of Hen and Chicks in Mid War if it is that big of a problem.
