I've decided to have a play around with the Sanguinary Guard. I saw the models ages ago and the idea of painting gold put me off, I've only been painting for less than a year, so it was quite intimidating. I noticed the Flesh Tearer scheme in the Blood Angels codex, so I thought I'd play around with the SG and do a scheme based on the Flesh Tearers

I've only painted one of the SG up so far, and would like feedback on where and how to improve it. Be nice, I've only been painting for 10 months (including a 6 week break for Skyrim time) haha

Thanks in advance =]

Nice looking minis.

Did you use NNM on the wing arches? If so it looks really good. My NNM doesn't look that good!

A few little notes, drilling the barrels of guns always helps improve the general appearence of minis, and watch out for sneaky mold lines. I usually miss one and find it when I'm painting it and i can see some on the normal marine of yours.

Keep it up.

haha, yeh, I keep missing mould lines! It's annoying to see especially if I've undercoated them etc and definitely on older models

and I'm just using the new GW paint range, it's Balthasar Gold, with Gehenna's Gold and Auric Armour Gold highlights, with the Golden Griffon drybrushed onto the wings/shoulder pads. Painting NNM is like magic to me haha It seems beyond my skill range at the minute

Thanks
