Hi, one of my friends is selling his Necron army and i'm thinking of buying them of him so i'm making some lists and seeing which ones i like best and if they're any good. HQ Necron Overlord- 195 - Warscythe - Mindshackle Scarabs - Catacomb Command Barge, Gauss cannon Royal Court- 160 - Cryptek, Harbinger of Destruction, Solar pulse- 55 - Cryptek, Harbinger of Destruction- 35 - Cryptek, Harbinger of Destruction- 35 - Cryptek, Harbinger of Destruction- 35 TROOPS 5 Immortals- 85 - Tesla carbines 5 Immortals- 85 - Tesla carbines 5 Immortals- 85 - Tesla carbines 5 Immortals- 85 - Tesla carbines ELITES Triarch Stalker- 150 Triarch Stalker- 150 FAST ATTACK 4 Canoptek Wraiths- 165 - 2 Whip coils - Particle caster 4 Canoptek Wraiths- 165 - 2 Whip coils - Particle caster 5 Canoptek Scarabs- 75 HEAVY SUPPORT Canoptek Spyder- 50 Canoptek Spyder- 50 TOTAL: 1500 The basic strategy of the list is to move towards the opponents army on turn 1/2 so i can get in to range with the Overlord, Stalkers, Wraiths and Scarabs, if i'm facing a Gunline or heavy shooting list i can use the Solar pulse to make it harder for them to take out stuff as i move up. In case you were wondering why i included the units i did i'll breifly explain: each Cryptek is joined to an Immortal squad to help take out Transports or tougher infantry/Creatures. The Stalkers are for destroying the heavier vehicles at range, assaulting units that get too close to the Immortals and for Twinlinking the Crypeks and Immortals (which is why i took Tesla for more chances to get 6's for extra hits). The Wraiths are simply for supporting with any assaults which are going on or for dealing with ranged units such as Devastators and HWTs. The Scarabs will be behind the Immortals for some cover as they move forward and when they do get close enough they will assault any vehicles which are around or help tie up ranged units. The Spyders will be near the Scarabs to reinforce them to make sure that there numbers are high when they start assaulting, the Spyders will also help with any combats that they get near and to protect the Immortals. Good tactics? or have i just failed? any comments or critisism are appreciated. Thanks.
