Well, i think that i am finally and will be done with my 101st Airborne company. Last nite i calculated my points and i have 4200!!!!Now just a few things like some more Artillery and a few odds and ends and i am finally done.i been trying to collect 5000 pts.
I guess i am kinda slow at painting, but i prefer to have my Armies totally collected and tweek before i start on any major push towards painting them.Because building and play testing i always change it around . I found this very annoying for me when is was playing the IG.Nothing worse than spending your time painting up that squad or vehicle. You only use a few times and find out that they do not fulfill the battlefield role that you hoped for.
I guess i have question for everyone is this just me or does anyone else do this?

I build and paint the units as I buy them. Painting is half the fun for me.
BTW, was there an extra zero there or do you really have 42,000 pts?

That's a good amount of points I'm working on an 82nd myself, and it's a meager start with my 2 platoons. I do have some Brit stuff, I suppose it will be Irish Guards support.
I tend to collect first and paint later myself.

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness. ADB |

I paint when I have the desire to paint. I've never let the state of an army determine my painting of my forces. So all of my armies have fully painted units in them and only primed units in them side by side. I have friends that will not play with anything that isn't completely painted. Have other friends who have never painted a mini in their lives. So everyone is a little different. For a new game I will often buy a completely new army before I even start building anything for it, and then will play with a bit before I spend too much time painting it. I also like options so when I buy a new "army" it is usually an army that is twice the points value of a standard game or so to begin with because I like a lot of options.
My like of options is why I have restricted myself to only playing British forces in Flames of War. A lot of the minis can be used in a variety of lists and I can cover a whole lot of forces with less rebuying of the basics than if I was building forces across a bunch of different countries.
