Hi There!
The second battle of our “Green world” campaign took place at home.
As usual my son leads the Tau and their Kroot mercenaries while myself toke command of the Imperial Guard and Squat allies.

The expansionist Tau empire launched a lot of coordinated attacks over key points on Salix II , one of the rich food and mineral producer imperial´s worlds.
Trying to capture an important crossroad Tau forces deployed fast from Devilfish vehicles and launched a simultaneous attack from north and west.

Squad forces performs very well and killed or routed all the Kroots, on this part of the battlefield seems to be an orbital jamming attack because vehicles and Tau High-tech suits seems to be out of order ( a LOT of failed activation rolls).

Meanwhile Imperial troopers was caught in the open and despite an initial success they was unable to hold the crossroad and suffers an horrendous crossfire killing or wounded the most of them.

At this time Squats received the desperate order of take the crossroad at all cost, and was a complete carnage, Tau soldiers fired at squats from various sides killing them all!

A complete Tau victory , another fun FUBAR game, a great father-son time, an awful English AAR… what more can we ask?!!!

Alas, the poor Squats!

I really like these battle reports, and how you use non GW-minis to create excellent FUBAR batreps. What would you say is the maximum number of squads a player could use without bogging the game down?

Many and varied forces in progress according to waxing & waning whims.

I may never finish an army in my life.

Thank you.
I think 6-8 squads and 4-5 vehicles it´s still playable at reasonable speed!

Thank you! That sounds like a nice healthy size for a game.

Looks great. Cool to see the void tank in action also!

However, a bit less effects, and a bit clearer resolution would be great for some of the pics, especially the poor squats whom we can hardly see at all.

Nice you liked Eilif!
You´re right some pics arevery poor quality, the fact it´s that we take a lot of pictures while gaming, being more for play than to take pictures al ot of them are out of focus, poor light, etc... Giving some efects made it a little bit better and gives the atmospheric efect we like a lot.

Anyway if you want to see more of our squats take a look here;

Thanks for those pics. Are some of those Squats from Harlequinn/BlackTree?
I just picked up a set and they look quite nice.

The squats are old GW, Enigma miniatures ( not the one now exist, the canadian one out of bussines) and ,you´re right, Harlequin.

Oooo, good score with the enigma figs. Those are really hard to come by!
I had a few of their not-IG figs and they weren't very good, but their not-SM's (had Arbites-like heads, IIRC) were pretty cool looking. Shame they were only available for a short time before GW got wise to them.

I am tempted to use the FUBAR 2nd edition sci-fi rules. I was reading them in the one page version and they are amazing. I am going to print them in 3 pages for a better visual. The question is, do you guys use the 40k point costs for the units? or do you add the weapons point cost too?

Keep up the fight!

Sorry for the delay on answering! We do not use any point system in our FUBAR games, but I don't know if other people do it.
I think the point it´s to feel free to play at you want!
Onthe other hand I think40K points will work well too.
