2.) Dumb Law of the Day — Looks like the hopelessly incompetent New York GOP is busy exploring new frontiers in stupidity. TheDC’s Steven Nelson reports:
“Nearly half of the Republicans serving in the New York State Assembly have proposed legislation that would ban anonymous online comments. If enacted, the legislation would require websites — including social networks and online newspapers — to remove all anonymous comments that are brought to the attention of administrators.”
Ugh. These guys. As our friends at Wired note, this legislation would have banned the anonymously published Federalist Papers from ever being disseminated online. In your face, Publius!

The Internet mimics this. It is perfectly reasonable that our children have the same rights as our parents did here.

New York is becoming a hot bed for douche bags, use to think it was all the tool bags down in "the city", but UNY has done more than its fair share of electing some questionable people, then again looking at some of the voters who took over my favorite sports bar preaching Obama is a Muslim who wants to create a atheist nation, I shouldn't expect more from politicians put into office around here.
Personally don't feel this something that should be an issue at a government level. If a site owner wanted to prohibit anonymous comments I'm fine with that.
