Heya,

Just ordered the Revised Core set, and I'm thinking of building our from the Allied models in the game. What would you all recommend right away regarding a good Allied build out?

Thanks.

I don't think there are any bad choices you can make. Most of the units are fairly equivalent in points and effectiveness as far as I've been able to tell.

I would recommend getting at least one more Lv3 infantry unit. Either Grim Reapers or Tank Busters. They go well with Rhino, the Hammers, and the Blackhawk from the starter to make a pretty nice heavy ranger platoon.

I'd also recommend getting a Ranger Command Squad and a Combat Squad or two. I think the Ranger Platoon is a little more well rounded than the Assault Platoon for your main platoon choice.

A Recon squad is also a good choice as they are the cheapest of the infantry squads and are useful in getting that extra squad needed to open up a support slot.

A specialist box would also be handy, and get yourself at least 2 medium walkers boxes.
