I just got a massive thing of High Elves off of Ebay, so here goes.

Thoughts?

Well, 2 major things.

1) Shields? These aren't common with swordsman, because you'll lose the 2-handed option that elven blades can have (i love it so much).

2) You could probably use a banner. That can really help.

Apart from shields on the swords, which Dr. What has already stated, I think it is a pretty solid list, for 600 points it brings a lot of elves to the table (in comparision, my pure corsair list, with no arbalesters has 46 models in it), although I should mention that Heroes don't count towards the bow limit so you actually have 12 bows out of 36 models.

There wasn't any elven blades taken in the first place.......

I agree with the banner comment, my elves have 2 in 500 points. But then again my elves are based on Gil-galads last stand on mount doom as he rallies his remaining warriors to his side and charges in for 1 last fight. So there should be quite a few banners.

Thanks for the feedback. First off, the Elven Blades. I don't like them, because in the rulebook it says that models using 2 handed weapons, optional or no, can't be supported by spears or pikes. An extra attack and higher defense seems to me the better option.

As for the banners, I would have them, because re-rolls sound pretty useful, but I don't have the models. Ebay, don't fail me now!

You could make a banner. Use a spear/blade and a good paper design. That's what I did with my elves.

Plus 2 handed weapons near banners are near impossible to stop!

That only applies to Elven Blades if they go 2-handed.

I've taken your advice and converted one of my Galadhrim spearman(I just painted the design onto the banner with a toothpick . Fine detail at its best). Should I rework a warband around him, or should I just get rid of a few troops and stick him into my army?

That's personal preference. I'd just stick him in though. Make sure he's within 3" of as many combats as you can get, those rerolls + the high elven fight value = winning the majority of all combats.
