Welcome to MOAB 2012

This year its time for a facelift.

The main hall has always been the social and retail centre of the convention and this year the retail and gaming areas have been transformed.

The retail area has more than doubled and we have shifted the focus away from competition games to Participation Games, with an emphasis on visual appeal, playability and diversity. As always, these participation games are free to play!

Our regular Competition Games will still be here

Warhammer 40k
Warhammer Fantasy
Warmachine
Blood Bowl
Fields of Glory
DBA
Flames of War
Horde of the Things
Malifaux
Infinity
and something new this year; Field Of Glory Napoleonic’s.

Our Confirmed Traders are

Hall of Heroes
Essex Miniatures
Eureka Miniatures
Aether Works
Micks Metal Models
Olympian Games
UTTT
Combat Company
Battlefield Accessories

Two new traders attending MOAB this year are:
- Murray Burfitt of `Burfitt Tools Australia’ from Western Australia
- Chris Townsend from Good Games Miranda

This year we are going after some great Participation Games with an emphasis on eye candy, playability and diversity. We’ve lined up -

Wings of Glory – WWI aerial combat over France (previously known as Wings of War)

Space Hulk – Terminators versus just about everybody, combat to the death in a subterranean hulk and overlying city ruins.

Might and Reason – Warfare and carnage during the Seven Year War.

Command and Colour’s – Ancients and Napoleonic, a board game by GMT adapted for miniatures.

Zomibicide – a board game with miniatures by CoolMiniOrNot , Edge Entertainment and Guillotine Games.

and more, see our Participation Game Schedule for session times.

For something different you can help us choose this year’s MOAB poster artwork

See the artwork on our website or go to http://daftpunky.deviantart.com/ and leave a comment.

The most popular will be turned into this years MOAB poster.

For those of you that have not heard of us before, MOAB stands for the Mother of All Battles and is an annual gaming convention in Sydney, Australia. It has been running every year since 1991.

We have competitions that cover multiple game systems and a retail area in our main hall with many gaming retailers.

In addition we run participation and demonstration games in the main hall; this year we are planning to improve and expand these further.

We also run a Bring and Buy where people can bring in their old gaming stuff and we will do our best to sell it for you!

Best of all, entry to the main hall, participation games and bring and buy is completely free. You can walk in, wander around, join in some games without worrying about paying a cent.
(Though competitions still have an entry fee)
