Just wanted to get some feedback on 2 lists I threw together for my dad. He's just getting started and wanted to have his army figured out before he made any major purchases. Without further ado, the lists.

First up is a Canadian Armored Squadron

Armored Squadron HQ w. 2 Sherman III, 1 w. 50 cal - 230

Armored Platoon w. 3 Sherman III, 1 w. 50 cal - 355
Armored Platoon w. 3 Sherman III, 1 w. 50 cal - 355
Armored Platoon w. 3 Sherman III, 1 w. 50 cal - 355

Recce Patrol w. 3 Stuarts, 1 w. 50 cal - 175
Rifle Platoon w. 3 squads and piat - 140
Field Battery Royal Artillery w. 8 guns - 305
Light AA Platoon w. 3 bofors - 85
------
2000

Second list is still Canadian but infantry now.

Rifle Company HQ w. piat - 45

Rifle Platoon w. 3 squads and piat - 140
Rifle Platoon w. 3 squads and piat - 140
Rifle Platoon w. 3 squads and piat - 140

Anti-tank Platoon w. 4 6 pdr portee - 150
Machine-gun Platoon w. 4 Vickers HMG - 130
Armoured Platoon w. 3 Sherman III - 350
Armoured Platoon w. 3 Sherman III - 350
Recce Platoon w. 3 Otter, 2 Humber IV - 160
Field Battery Royal Artillery w. 8 guns - 305
Light AA Platoon w. 3 bofors - 85
------
1995

Thoughts on either list are appreciated!

Just my 2 cents

I like the look of the second list best. A full strength infantry company w/ support. You seemed to have good coverage with AAA and recce in the list. Commonwealth arty is an excellent choice as well.

My only concern with the second list is the 6pdr portee's. I've used normal 57mm AT guns with my americans, but haven't tried the british MW equivalent yet, so I'm not sure how they'll perform, especially with a newbie at the helm

Just my 2 cents

I've never used the portee rule before. For MW army vs. MW army the 6pdrs are effective for fighting off Panzer I through IV and great against half-tracks.
