I haven't seen anything about this here for 2 days. Does everyone know already or am I the first to say it?
GW is putting up prices for many of their kits, typically a raise of 5-25%. This is not surprising if the new edition is coming out.
What is surprising is that they continue to raise prices while the economy can't match it. I thought their last price raise was unjustified until I saw how good quality of models they started releasing. While that is no excuse, at least they improved on things shortly after. This time though, we aren't getting a quality improvement, there is no way they're going to redo all those kits.
I know some of the armies I wanted will no longer happen. I'm hesitant to finish the ones that are almost done now. And I say this from the point of view of someone getting wholesale price. I feel bad for you others.
As a retailer that does mainly 40k, I think i'll be gone shortly after the 6th edition momentum fades. Until then, keep gaming (even if it's no longer GW games).
