A long time prowler, this is my first post on DakkaDakka. Though I cut my teeth on lotsa good wargames and the like back in Junior High (30+ years ago now, wow.), in 2005 on a whim I painted up some LOTR GW figs for a friend's kid, and fell back in love with the hobby. Just last week, a friend who decided he needed his garage back, dumped six packing boxes of GW (mostly) fantasy battle and 40K minis on me. Six boxes is hundreds (probably in the low thousands) of dudes... Ironically, I've never played either FB or 40K, but I suspect that may change soon. I play Warmachine and Dystopian Wars some, but really it's about the collecting, painting and customizing for me!

This seems like the right spot to come for advice on putting together some good GW armies. As I sort through my new treasure trove of old GW goodies (from the 80s! the 90s! there's some nifty stuff there!) and start thinking about what sort of 40K or FB armies to pull together, I'll put up some trade lists.

I play...

Sigh.

Who am I kidding? I only paint these days...

Hi,

Well GW were mostly responsible for the Berlin Wall, so it's natural for some people to harbour resentment towards them.
