Does anyone know when we Tau are supposed to get our 5th edition codex?

I’m not complaining about the rules that i have right now i have been able to hold my own, but i would like more options including a few of the Forge World aircraft being allowed or their XV9’s since my group will not play against non codex models.

I’m sorry if there is already another thread discussing this, i have been hunting and all i can find are talks about 6th edition when i haven’t gotten my fifth. And honestly it’s discouraging to look at my dad’s space marine codex or my brother’s 'nids with their huge lists of options including a few that don’t have models out yet. (part of why they won’t play non codex units)

Do you think they will do a long string of new model releases like they are doing for Necrons and Space Puppies following a new Tau codex?

I would assume after 6E isout and the Space Marines and Chaos get all tooled up, Eldar and Tau will be next...

then again this is GW so maybe GK will get an update with Necrons right after =]

ok, I hear a lot of people complaining about 5th ed rules anyway. But when will 6th come out? And wouldn’t they redo Orks and the other older armies than just Space Marines and Chaos before they touch the newer Xenos such as us Tau as we are the minority of players?

The current thoughts are that Chaos Space Marines is next at some point this year, with Dark Angels, Eldar, and Tau following in some order next year.

chaos deserves a new codex!!! it been years for us!! as for the tau, the FW models do look good, i would love to see them in the new codex.
come 6th edition, im fairly resigned to the fact that as soon as it comes out, space marines and orks will get released.
so its probably going to be: chaos space marines (yay!!!), dark angels, eldar, tau, probablly 6th edition, space marines, orks
which leaves black templars, nids, dark eldar, imperael gaurd and deamons (theyll have to release skarbrand first though!!!!)
