Winged Kroot Vulture

So, I have been presented with an interesting thought. Just recently started playing Changeling: The Lost (nWoD) but yet no one is familiar with the new system. 3/4 of the group has experience with the older system (oWoD) but have never played the newer system. Despite this, our Storyteller has decided to wing it for the campaign instead of following an already written campaign by WW. I kind of am opposed winging it for the first time in a new system, of any kind, until I am more familiar with it. But he seems sure of what he is doing and I want to play, so I don't say anything.

As of now, 4 games in to the campaign, I am feeling a little worried about the quality but am still holding out hope. I come from a long history of playing Call of Cthulhu and I know sometimes things can take a while to take shape and present an idea of the bigger picture.

Have you ever ran a game, without knowing much about the system it was based on, where you winged it? How did it go? Would you ever do it again?
